help with ecu
Ok,
I have recently moved to spain with my R32 GTR and i have just recently finished building the engine with a spec as follows standard head greddy 272-9.1 cams ajustable cam pulleys forged piston and rods R33 crank acl race bearings tomei oil pump tomei oil orifice n1 water pump all hks gaskets 600cc injectors nismo FPR nismo flow meters arc air box power fc hks dump pipes hks super dragger exhaust trust link pipe abbey decat now these are the problems im having with standard injectors, FPR and flow meters, after doing the idle learning process it has a hunt at idle from about 1000 to 1500 RPM and i cant seem to stop it, if i richen up the whole map it seems to get better but i end up with AFR's of about 11.2, far to rich at idle, its very difficult to map it because of this hunt if i swop to the nismo flow meters it will not idle no matter what setting i put the flow meters to on the hand controller, the only way it will idle is if i again richen up the whole rev range but it will not hunt if i use these flow meters at the moment i have the 600cc injectors fitted and the nismo FPR but still with standrad flow meters and this seems to work the best so far but i still have the hunt at idle and its making it almost impossible to map the problem im having is i now live in the south of spain and there is nowhere that can map it, the power fc is very difficult to map through the hand controller and i need a solution asap I was thinking of buying an omex 710 ecu, its map based and they will put a base map on it for me plus they will make a loom that suits the car, its also alot easier to map and i could get it mapped out here, i could also sell the nismo flow meters and the power FC and get most of my money back or the other option was to see if i could get a plug and play ecu like mines or something, that way i can just fit and forget the only probelm here is i want around 500 bhp, is there an ecu that can do this?? let me know your opinions and if you could let me know what flow meter setting everyone selects when they go to nismo flow meters Cheers Ricky |

To map the PFC, buy FC-Datalogit.
Have you checked for an intake leak?

i agree about the datalogit but i refuse to put any more money towards a PFC, i would rather sell it and buy the omex 710. the reason i say that is if you want to run more than 450 bhp you need to buy nismo or mines or 300zx flow meters i paid £300 for the nismo ones plus the powerfc thats getting on for £900 total, that would be ok if it was easy to map but its not you need to get the datalogit to do that, and thats another £200+ plus hardly anyone maps them, infact no one does in spain for only a very small amount more i can have the top of the range omex that anyone can map, its map based and has lots more functions plus i will get a bespoke loom and base map much better in my eyes and if i knew about the mapping issues with the PFC i would of never bothered with, thats my fault though i should of looked into it deeper as for air leaks yes i have checked, i found nothing but i used all hks gaskets to cure the chance of any leaks cheers ricky |

Dude,
Is it you mapping the car? Stock AFM's can be rescaled for around 500hp, nismo airflow meters need the calibration curve changing also. Now stop pissing about with the fuelling and change the ignition timing ![]() Rob
