Rant...

coming back from Brands hatch toady there was some serious traffic, I had a 530d right up my backside then started the undertaking routine.

I don't think he was GTR storker just stupid. I had traffic in front so I couldn't go anywhere, if I touched my brakes he would of ended up sitting next to me. Why...

It seems the R35 gets good reactions or idoits giving thumbs down or acting stupid

can the Bee*R Power Builder be fitted to the R35? It is hands down the best anti-tailgating device. Throw the car in neutral, floor the throttle, and pop, bang, and flame away

I once dealt with a tailgater by slamming on the brakes, then doing a burnout right then and there, inches from his car. He got the message.

parts for rears of R35s are not so easy if he or I messed it up

found a bit of clear road, left him behind then pulled in

I think his missus had a smile on her face, but why is what I don't understand

i have heard that some people who get a thrill out of seeing performance cars do their thing will try to goad people into accelerating hard....e.g. by acting like they want to race you off lights even though they know they will lose....but if they tailgate to do that then that is just plain rude of them

There's something with BMWs... Big Mothereffng ******s? (I know there are nice BMW drivers as well)...

Had a 520i in front of me on a 3 lane highway today - both left lanes are clear. But no - he will not give way. In face, he proceeded to swerve to block me when I tried to shift to the left lane to undertake. Thankfully got an empty space so was able to use the warp drive.

I think it is just their hate - a new form of freudian ***** envy :P

Just keep a nice distance ahead of you when in traffic. Or flash your hazards and perhaps such drivers may back off somewhat.

As G40tee rightly notes, many drivers out there are questionable. And many of them just so happen to be in, dare I say it, BMWs and other German marques. Quite annoying.

I only like to drive my R34 GTR when the roads are fairly quiet although there are times when you cant help but be stuck in traffic. Prevention better than cure. The Bee R trick sounds like a good'un though!

The trick is to cut back in front of them as close as possible to wake them up a bit

its against the law to undertake (works OK in the US) but its OK to sit in the outside lane?

You are supposed to pull into the left but there is not enough traffic cops to enforce it, so BMW's think its their lane

Bit of a grey area IMO, since you're allowed to pass on the left if traffic in that lane is moving faster than traffic in the lane to the right

As I understand it you can undertake if there is constant flow of traffic in all lanes and the flows are at different speeds.

When I come up against people like the BMW driver - I make sure I leave as much space as possible when I undertake so that if the police ever catch me I can accuse the driver in front of being dangerous, jumping on the brakes and swerving and claim that I was giving him as much room as possible so as not to cause an accident.

the highway code specifically states that you can overtake on the left if there is queueing traffic and the left queue is moving more quickly than the right.....if the middle lane is moving at 70mph and the right hand lane is moving at 65mph then i don't think that would qualify as queueing traffic.
