R33 GTR wth 19"x11J rims

I have been looking at rims for my R33 GTR and saw some monster 19x11J rims with a +38 offset. I used to have 18x9.5's with a +12ET and they fairly well filled the arch. will the 19's be sat back a bit on this offset or does that sound about right? by my maths they should bae sat 7mm further back in? but then I have never quite got the offset thing!

Thank you
Lee

I'm not totally up on this either so will be intregued by any answer, but my understanding is that the offset is the distance between the centre of the hub and the furthest outer point of the rim. +38 sounds massive.

Will this not be more prone to stress damage, as it is further from the support of the core part of the alloy?

dude i put 20 inch alloys on my r33 gtr, anything above 18 inches ruins the handleing, and ride big time, take it from me i know!!!!!!! stick to 18's with offset of et+12 and they will fill the arches correctly, any info needed pm me

What rims are they Chrisbeau?
They look like the Jaeros?

So the 19's are a no no! Would the offset be a mile out as well?? Even on a 11J rim?

Cheers

i dont think the offset will be too bad, not ideal but not bad due to the width of the wheel, but personall i wouldnt go for 19's i dont think they look right and wont do the handling any good.

ive got 19x9.5 et+10 with 275/30 tyres and it handles 'kin well, same as the 18's i had before,
the rolling radius is pretty much the same due to the lower profile, the only difference is i have the suspension on its hardest setting to stop the tyres rubbing the arches due to the offset

Wow, That is a low offset!! Don't suppose you could post a picture of this so I can see what rims you are running and what the 19's look like. I totally appreciate that above 18's are not great for track use.. however the skyline is a big beast and I have always thought 18's look a little small on it? It does massively depend on the desing of wheel though.

Thank you
Lee
