Nismo Oil pump for the RB26DETT any good?

Just a few more bits to get for the rebuild - Is the Nismo oil pump any good compared to the HKS or Tomei one?

Thanks for any help

well i have run 2 now, one in a 26 with 620bhp 8k limit, and one in my 30 with 700+bhp and 7500 limit, 26 had done 4000 miles when i sold the engine to liam palmer 77 on here, thats still going strong, and the 30 has done 4300 miles since jan this year and thats still going strong, its how you build the motor and how its driven in my eyes.. you decide.

There are some scarey stories on here about Nismo Oil pumps, the only thing i know for sure is that they weren`t designed for more than 8k revs. Mine is approx 6 years old and running strong though.

Hmm, ok thanks guys, seems the only way forward without any concerns will be the Tomei route unless u want to build my engine Bernie?

Are you talking about N1 pumps or Nismo pumps, the two aren't the same. The N1 still uses sintered pump rotors only they are 81mm diameter as opposed to the stock 77mm and its the N1 pump which seem to have a higher failure rate.

The Nismo oil pump uses machined steel Rotors I believe, which is the same as Jun/Trust/Reimax/Tomei do and all are probably about as good as each other, all though if I had the money Tomei would be my choice (but i didn't so i put Reimax replacement rotors in an N1 pump housing).

Mine has been going for 20,000ks....But my car only revs to 8000rpm, Makes peak power at 7000rpm and peak torque at 5000rpm.
