Tyre recommendation for 19.9.5 wheels..

I know this is a question that must be asked many a time, but with the arrival of my new wheels imminent, I just wanted a fresh perspective on what brand of tyre and size of tyre I should be going for..

As per the thread title, the wheels are 19x9.5.. Now Miguel at Newera has suggested 265 30 19, whilst I know of others who are running 275 30 19.. So herein lies one dilemma!

And I havent a clue what tyre to go for. Presently on my OEM R34 GTR wheels I have Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 (not assymetric) and I am happy with these. I dont mind spending a little extra to get a premium tyre so please let me know of your suggestions..

Thanks in advance..

265 section is fine.

As for the make of tyres thats up to you. How much do you want to spend?!!!!

Toyo T1R's are a very good tyres for the money

Cheers..

I think I have narrowed it down to the following..

Dunlop SP9000
Bridgestone RE50
Yokohama AVS Sport
Goodyear Eagle F1

How much do I want to pay? I think I will need to spend at least £200-ish per tyre, so with that in mind, I dont really mind paying a little extra if it means I am able to get a good quality tyre.

the sp 9000s are good tyres but i found wear down too quickly
one burnout and i lost 3-4mm of tread! wasnt even a particularly special burnout either!

Whoopsie!

Well I dont know how to do a burnout lol!!

Sounds like the Dunlops are soft? A good all rounder is what I would like if that is possible or perhaps a good dry weather tyre!

from personal use (althought not at this size) the yokohamas were good tyres, but again are a softer tyre. but never had the same issue i had with the dunlops.
eagle f1's are good alround tyres.
at the moment my GTR has falkens on it. very good tyres according to the current owner! (havent taken 'delivery' as such yet.lol)
my dads bmw has bridgestone run flats, cant really comment on that as run flats are different obviously.

the astons i used to work on though did use bridgestones, were a bit shoddy in the rain we found. arent cheap either but what tyre is that size! but i couldnt tell you which particular bridgestones they were though!

From my experience and talking to others, the Goodyear F1's are great, but too soft, and hence wear too quick!

Best all round probably will be Bridgestone, or Michelin Pilot Sport, if they do it in the size you need

Back to the drawing board..

I had narrowed it down to either the Michelin Sport Cup or the Bridgestone RE050 IN 265/30/19 respectively.

Now I have been advised by Elite Direct that the latter of the two aforementioned tyres is not available at all whilst the Michelin is well out of my price range!

lol!!

If grip is your main concern, go for a soft compound tyre, if its longevity you want, then go for the hard compound. The sizes you have chosen are spot on. I have the same wheel size as you with an offset of +12. Mine are fitted with Good Year F1s 265x30x19, no problems with scrubbing on the arches or with full lock either way, hope that helps.
