yay you're back!
![]() I had a idler failure on my 231km-old engine had to rip everything out again and replace the valves and valve guides. Surprisingly, my pistons suffered no damage at all (I always thought a timing belt failure would take out the pistons as well).I'm back to my efforts to blow up my engine, does that count not having much success, my new map is better than ever and I've run my first trials at 1.9 bar....and with leaner fueling, slightly advanced timing, less knock, and not having driven that fast in months, my eyeballs got sucked into my head and I couldn't see straight.Strange that how I tried to overprotect my engine with my last map led to overfueling, less power, slow boost, and high EGT with excessively retarded ignition. If I spin another bearing, that's proof positive God hates me. I've now got a Tomei oil pump, Trust extended sump, Accusump now with manual valve control - a total of 10 liters in my oil system, with surge and pressure drop protection. As far as wet sumps go, I've got damned near everything, even on the breather end with Mines cam cover baffles and Nismo separator. Now the only thing that stands between me and a fifth engine is shit mapping or a sudden desire to run 3 bars out of my 2860-5s ![]() |
