The new 240z turbo (center motor) sure makes the T51r spl look small, I hope we can spool it!!

Rob can you elaborate on the V-Clamp system. My understanding is that if you have this type of system installed, changing the turbo's over is like a 10 minute job?? is that right??.

V band from exhaust manifold to turbo is quite rare, most manifolds (yours included) have a T4 flange to hold the turbo to the manifold.

Its pretty common to have V band for the dump pipe and that saves alot of time but the main turbo that has both V bands is the T51r spl.

So, with what you have, you'd need a T4 flanged GT42, seeing as its high mount, its not a real big job to change to the same model of turbo, but when you completely change models you still normally have to re-do the dump pipe flange and sometimes oil return hose.

So If I went GT42, would I then also have to change my dump-pipes?? I'm thinking will they still measure up to the GT42??

You only have one dump pipe now and the center line will probably line up but the flange connecting it to the turbo itself "may" need to be changed (depends on what model of GT42 you get), a very easy job for anyone with basic skills and a welder.

Get Rob to chose the new turbo if you do go that way, then he can get the one that will need the least amount of work.
