I'm sticking to around 1000kg so I don't have any advantage in that area.

As Christian said.
I wrote gtr and with that i meant 4wd/awd :P

rwd is conventional and has been done millions of 7-8s cars, one of them is yours already

Into the 7s in a fully legal 1000kg car, with totally stock internals including old stock pistons and rods, stock used cams, stock used valve springs, no porting, on 98 pump gas/NOS with a budget of 20k??

I don't think so

A couple of you are starting to get your thinking caps on though and getting warm.

Rob

Rob, if you're thinking of giving JB a run for his money, I take it you're going to build a tubbed GTS-t then?

God is this still being discussed, just build it Rob instead of talking about it

I really hope it is a tubbed GTST as will be great to have a similar car to compare times with
1000kgs is to light for us though as the weight limit is above that (from memory) approx 1140 kgs allowed

You don't need to be tubbed to go 7's. Small tire guys in the states have gone low 10's on a 28x10.5 slick. Might need a minitub to fit that under a skyline body, but pair that up with a good solid axle and you're ready to go!

Its not a 4wd, its not a skyline, its not tubbed.

One guy was close then backed off when he remembered the 1000kg.

Like I said, there's no rules on the type of car etc, only that the car must be legal for racing and claiming records.

I'd never dream of giving JB a run for his money in a 1100kg+ 2wd tubbed skyline with stock internals for 20k and I've never said I would

All I've said is what I am building will weigh around 1000kg, use stock internals and all going to plan run in the 7s.

I was kind of hoping you guys might try a little harder to think outside the square but once you know what it is the knockers will no dought arrive to put in their 2p worth.

Forget what you may think is how you'd go about it or how you think is right etc, think of it this way.........No limit to what it is as long as its fully legal within a normal drag class, do anything you want, stock internals, 1000kg, 98 pump gas, NOS, 20k pounds and go for 7s......... anyone???

Rob
