if the front and rear calipers are the same fluid ratio as the std brakes, you shouldn't have a problem with balance.

Unless your new calipers are MASSIVELY bigger volume than the std ones, you should be good with a std master cylinder.... even 12 pot calipers should not have a greatly increased volume - but a spec sheet on them will tell you that.

In Japan most GT-R owners with aftermarket brake sets wouldn't run std brake master cylinder, especially people who would take their car to tracks.
STD brake master cylinder shouldn't be enough to push out enough volume for aftermarket brake sets.
I don't really know volume difference between different calipers but I guess that's the point need to be checked.

Well, not having upgraded my calipers yet I have paved the way by fitting an M57 master cylinder of an R33 (apparently the biggest std GTR size there is) and removing the ABS. I also gave all the calipers a good servicing as I found 4 siezed pistons among the 4 calipers. Brakes are MUCH more effective now.
I plan to run 6pot Wilwood FR and 4pot RR.

TT

I am currently testing a new set of brakes, front 6 pot and rear 6 pot... No problem at all at the track day, very balance and initial bite is great.

Standard R32 Master Cylinder with a Master Cylinder Brace.

I always thought a R33 GTR master cylinder is needed as they are bigger, but it looks like the Standard R32 master cylinder is fine from what I have seen.

I only responded to this thread because I thought it read, For all GT-R owner's with big D***s, sorry wrong thread.

On a serious note though, does changing to the bigger Nismo cylinder not sufficient enough, when changing to bigger brake's or even just changing to the Nismo without the bigger brakes, does that not see any benefit's??

worked fine for me on the le mans bugatti circuit in my non standard r34 gtr, standard master cylinder and brakes. Just dba gold front and rear discs, and ebc gold pads. Couldn't fault them.

I have F40 fronts and R33 brembos on the back with a RS260 Stagea master cyl.

The RS260 is spose to be the biggest with a little more bias to the rear, Saves having to upgrade the rears.

The problem with the std master and bigger brakes on a 32, is long pedal. you might get good bite, but it is a bit spongy before then if you want to keep the ABS.

Do a search on F40 brakes, Sean talks about this setup as being the go according to Mr GTR.
