if I turned up to a black tie dinner in that zr1 people would laugh at me. Forget corvette. The gt-r is now discussed alongside the Porsche turbo. It's a four seater car for gods sake and is a nice looking normal car. The zr1 is a purpose built muscle car. Seriously. Who cares.

I can definitely say that the Porsche turbo has the legs on a gtr at those speeds. Even top gear I think said this when they drove both on the autobahn. Still, it's less than half the price.

according to that video, the gt-r has roughly 18% drivetrain loss, while the zr1 has 26%. The ZR1 is putting to the wheels, what the z06 makes at the crank. yet people still believe that the z06 cannot be beaten by the gt-r and all the tests were biased or rigged or a scam or "insert anti gt-r comment". The zr1 is faster than the gt-r, obviously, it has carbon brakes, more power, less weight, it should be much faster than it is.

the gt-r is more efficient, and ive got my fingers crossed that the v-spec takes out both the acr and the zr1, the american car lovers at work are driving me crazy.
I know how you feel. I've had a few people come into the shop and ask if they can tune their R32's up to an R35 spec, and ask how much it'll run.

Funnily enough, I have a regular customer who owns a dealership, and his personal R32 runs just over 540 Horsepower SAE, and he raced an R35 at a local track, and butchered it.

He says his cars big win over the R35 is the grip, or lack thereof. Whereas an R35 doesn't like to slide even slightly, the R32 loves to get wiggly, and it comes to an advantage on the track.

I am so sick of American fanboys driving by the shop, throwing their old cups at the cars, etc etc.

It's a rather common occurrence here, and you'd be surprised. I had one guy drive by in an old Mustang (1980's ish?) and he threw a Melon (of all things) at our R32 demo car, and put a hole in the window. We got his plates and called the police, which quickly came and fined him for disturbing the peace, and for smashing the window in with a melon. He also had to pay for a new windshield.

This may sound all funny, but this is Scarborough, and anyone who lives in this area knows that stuff like this happens all the time.

We get bashed for having the better car. I don't know what kind of people we've come too, when we can't accept the fact that we have the better car, or we at least MATCHED the competition. Rather sad isn't it?

ahwel, heres a link to make us all feel better.. Its a stock GTR having a pop at a modded M6 with 590bhp.. Not bad for 100+ horse power down eh?.

yehhh it won but the GTR put up a good fight off the mark through the first few gears then the extra horse power came through.. still not bad though since the gtr was lots of power down..

looks like the GTR tapped off? M6 isn't that much faster. it passes the GTR like it's a good 30kmh faster. That video makes it looker much faster than the 911 Turbo???

Exactly! The point that all these 'road-tests' seem to just gloss over!
