Stunning shop Simon, cleaner than a hospital! 8)

Oh and there's only one thing better than a GT-R and that's two GT-R's! Good choice.

Are you gonna strip the silver one down to a bare shell and align it? Or is there another reason for the measurements to be off?

Looking at the gt-r shell on the right i'd say it was one of the first built and now probably one of the oldest in existance. IMHO LOL!

thanks for the coments guys

well tables are in place, and will be taking some proper pics, still have to finish 2 new room, fabrication.......as not enought space in shell shop to have a table and a shell hahahaha, and engine rom will be mnooved otside soon ,as that will be converted into stock room. and will free 2 more spaces for cars infront

well i start taking car apart today, hopefully in 2 weeks, it will be a bare shell, so i can fix all the rusty bits , and take the advantage to spot weld the hole chasi

thanks davew for the car , talking with an ex prodrive engineer friend of mine, who will be doing all my new suspension geometry for the track car........cant wait hihihih

well, back on track again.

car is nearly stripped, just needs windows and subframes out, so i can start fixing the rusty bits and seam welding the whole chasis, also reinforcing some bits too.

worshop with some new cars (chaser going to be built to profesional drift spec)

shell, nealy ready to weld

much more rust

and the 2 main beams under the car dont look too good either
once the car is on the....spit roast o whatever you call it, and its upside down will determine how much i have to chop of and make new :P

hopefully 2 weeks and sheīs in the shell shop.

ps: meanwhile, been speaking with an old friend of mine, ex prodrive engineer, we are discussing the options of the track car, as to where we should just design whole new subframes and suspesnion geometry, will keep uptades on this one too. maybe tubular frame?

well , back again.

money is coming slow, so project too.....

here are som pics:

20" on my gtr.................not realy going on, just for fun. ce28īs were put on a friends z for a track day.

engine being stripped

well, as you can tell by the pics, cylinder walls 4-5-6 are scrap, and bearing in number 5 rod, was about to let go, so....as engine is open already, full counter 2.8 going in, with 270, 10.8 lift cams, this will brig to life the -5 turbos i hope :P

uppdates in a few days, as im making the subframe to transport the shell to the shell shop and the ...eh...spit roast thing to turn the chasi arrount.......time to fix the shell

YUHUUUUU

back again.

ok, first thing, i realy realy realy hate spain! not one single acid bath to take my shell to, and only 3 places in the hole of spain who sand blast.....no beed blast, for some stupid reason, shows you how much motorsport or even restoration culture we have

so while im mumbling how much i hate spain, im going to be stuck for weeks with a air wire brush taking paint of ŽŽ

so anyways, rant off.

here are a few pics of the small process:

new wheel trolleys i made, you can also see the stands for the grinders and pillar drill, going in another room i have to make

uggly dirty rear subframe out, will get rewelded, sand blasted, powdercoated, few new adjustable arms, all polyurethane bushes, and roll center corrected

front subframe out, just need cleaning up, powdercoating, new rollcenter plates adjusted, as these are too agresive for street....would leave -6š...

car in shell shop

started stich welding front end

i hammered this bit into place :P

remooved some uggly rust i had here with the wire brush, took aaaaages.....going to buy some rust remoover this week :P

got bored of the front end, so started some bits of the interior, note, on this pic the actual bit that is welded had only 9 spot welds standard, imagine the diference in rigidity now. would of loved having some pillars so i could torsion test the shell before and after....but anyways.

more pics hopefully this week, as i dont need to invest money for this step, only hours, and hours, and hours......

Great effort mate.

With regard to welding the subframe be careful, you do not want to put too much heat into it and risk putting it out of shape. Best bet would be to fab up a jig then weld.
