decent place to change from stock speakers on a R35

So I didn't go for the bose options on the R35 as they sounded poor and on a JDM cost a lot. Looking at whats fitted I now know why they sounded bad

that is supposed to be a sub!

So I would like to change the stock speaker to lightweight good ones and amp, I have the basic fitting diagram for the bose in a US model

I also have a Pure dab to install.

I need a decent installer who I can trust to leave a R35 with to change over the speakers without charging a fortune (GTR tax), west london surrey/middlesex way is ideal

Once all the UK R35's turn up I bet they will get a lot more buisness....any suggestions

Robbie

Let us know how you get on with this - I have an R35 arriving in June and will be looking for a few audio tweaks, including someone to fit an A/V point in the glovebox (along the lines of this from Adrey on the US GTR OC).

Thanks

Guy

How do you mean Robbie? With Adrey's kit (or a self-build like one of the others on that thread) it should be possible to feed any composite video + stereo audio signal into the MFD. From what I have read it's simply a matter of pressing the Aux button a few times to cycle to the feed... but you have the car and I don't (yet!)...

... or do you mean you're hoping to rig up multiple feeds e.g. iPod/DVD from glovebox + rear camera etc?

I'm on the lookout for a satnav with composite video out - the TomTom x20 and x30 range have audio (line) out, but no video. I'll keep looking...

I have a camera so I'm not sure I have a extra input

I also have a PDA that runs tomtom and has a optional VGA output, not sure if it does video as well

In theory you should be able to convert VGA output to composite video, and feed that into the MFD. I was considering the HTC Touch Pro phone which runs Windows Mobile 6.1 and has full A/V output (stereo audio + composite video), and then running TomTom or one of the other SatNav systems on that... but I've ended up with an HTC Touch HD (no video out) and will settle for SatNav on its screen, and leaving the MFD alone... to start with

I'm in much the same position with the base unit - could do with someone in the same area, or to the west of that.

I was wondering if you found anyone to do the work. Also do you think just changing amp/speakers will do the trick - equalisers/tweeters etc?
