It would be helpful to copy and paste the list to a new reply and then add your sign on/name:

Cheers boys.
I actually think this might be better as a seperate thread if the mods can organise - then we can tell Nissan that a certain proportion of regular posters are seriously concerned about this matter and the potential lost orders amount to .... Guy - if its OK, can you liaise with Fuggles (as a former GTROC chairman I thought this may be easier) to ensure the correct points are raised. David

Taking liberties, I've added our fellow GTROCers who were up for a letter from the letter thread!:
That makes about £620K so far. C'mon chaps and chapesses, don't stand on the sidelines and lose out, stand and be counted! Let's go for the Blue Peter £1 million Don't roll over and let Nissan take liberties with you!! ![]() Sumo, thread wise. We can do a new 'un. or stick with what we've got. The list is just to let Fuggles know who wants GTROC to voice their concerns ! ![]() ![]()

Purple Haze Even though I don't view the car as being very suitable for track at 1800kgs, it has been marketed with this capability. The practicalities of a 100 mile round trip each time to the local HPC the day before and after track day, will be a major inconvenience for many. It also has implication for the resale of these cars. What if the seller has done a trackday and not had the inspections? Could the buyer be purchasing a car that no longer has a warranty, unknowingly? I am more concerned over grey area concerning "VDC off" button. I have no interest in gimmicky launch control aspect but know of no other car, where switching off the traction control, could invalidate the warranty. Very close to cancelling my order this week, as I'm losing faith in the car. Will I receive a refund on deposit, as build date is just over 4 months away?

Don't know if I count because I have already cancelled because of the VDC issue. Feel free to remove me from the list if I don't.

It wasn't meant as an insult Fuggles, I was rather insulted by your post actually, and I'm sure a few others were too. Basically you implied that anybody that moaned about having to go the the HPC for pre/post track checks, is irresponsible and dangerous to others. Don't you consider that insulting? Or was it just me that read it that way?

What nobody has mentioned so far is, what happens if everybody books their cars in for pre/post track checks?
Will every car be looked over, in time for the event? Or will there be a few disappointed owners because their cars weren't checked because the HPC's were too busy because they were fully booked? Will the HPC's be able to cope with the demand? Lets say 100 R35 owners all want to do the same track day, how will they all get checked over with so few HPC's?

Yeah but look at the amount of interest the new car is generating. If Nissan do manage to poach potential buyers from away Porsche or anybody else, an awful lot of those customers are into track days and will no doubt track the R35. And quite a few of them will have quite a bit more disposable income than the average R32/R33/R34 drivers, ergo they can blow huge amounts yearly on regular track days. Not that I'm suggesting R32/R33/R34 drivers are poor for one moment though, but there is a difference between the type of customers that buy 25 grand or less cars, and the type of customers that buy 100 grand plus cars. They are the ones Nissan are targetting. I've seen some one make track days with German or Italian cars, and they have considerably more than 10-15 people attending. I went to one at the Bedford Autodrome, I won't name the make because I don't really like cars with prancing horses. It was an opportunity to rag someone elses motor, so I did. I still never want to own one though ![]()

Still, look on the bright side. There seems to be at least 14 of us Noobie R-35ers so far who want to track, so you might see 3-5 of us at a few events! With 700 GT-Rs allocated for delivery in the UK in 2009, rough numbers from our polls suggests we have around 182 buyers on this site, a touch over 25% plus any 'lurkers' watching and waiting in majestic isolation. ![]() Trouble is, once we get going and the track threads get advertised (especially when photos and footage of the fun days are posted), more and more owners will fancy a go. Adding fuel to the fire, when the Race Academy days are all over owners will be dying for another adrenline shot when the free samples are spent and they are well and truly hooked! ![]() Trouble is, if the track issues are not resolved because of lack of initial interest, then we will only have our own collective apathy to blame. People come and go and interest waxes and wanes, be interesting to see how many of us have the interest and gumption to stake our claim.Been mulling about the 'Ring, and can only assume because it's officially a toll road, then Nissan have nowt whatsoever to say about it re. their track policy? i.e. The Ring is exempt !!! ![]() Nonetheless, 1 or 2 sorties to the Tiergarten a year is all I can reasonably manage... fancy the CAT trip this October myself, if it's still on Jo? Much more convenient to use a local track for local people! So come on you lot, if you want a minimum hassle track occasional track option, don't be shy, express your interest here!!! "I want to track my GT-R !" Say it loud, say it proud! ![]()
