Active tag security

Hi,

My name is Vijay and I'm from the 300zx forum. I've managed to find a source for a nice little security feature which you guys might be interested in. I've already run this past admin and they're happy for me to post. I'm not selling this item, I'm just passing on details as I'm happy to help anyone keep their cars from being stolen/jacked.

I've been looking into some security options and one I have come across is an active tag system which works on RFID technology. Basically you have a small transponder which you have on you, without that your car will not start. Or if your car is running and you walk away with the transponder, you can cut out the fuel pump, ECU or any other device which will leave your car dead. The distance from the transponder to the main unit and also the time delay is adjustable from the factory (can't be adjusted afterwards). This system would get over being jacked as as the thieves attempted to drive off, the car would cut out.

The other thing is you can have numerous cars running off the one transponder unit, or if you had 3 cars with the units and all the transponders could be programmed to work with all cars.

The transponder is 65mm x 50mm x 15mm so will easily fit in a pocket.

The transponder has an on/off switch to conserve battery life, If the transponder is turned off, the main unit will remain active there fore keeping the circuit in the car cut. This solves the problem if your transponder is in your house and it's within your designated contact area the car will not operate. There is an LED on the transponder that will flash when the battery is low.

Details of the system can be found here - Active Tag Security and smartkii.ca and http://carstrucks.ca/SmartKii-About.htm and http://carstrucks.ca/SKbrochure.pdf

The unit runs totally independent of your main alarm and is very simple to wire in. There are 4 wires, a 12+/- and then the other 2 wires are cut into the circuit you wish to cut.

I'm currently trying to sort out group buy for us 300 guys and have a price of 130 Euros plus shipping

Extra transponders are availabe at time of order or if it's lost by contacting them with your unique code number. Price is around the 50 Euros (plus shipping if ordered afterwards).

Any questions, please ask and I'll be happy to help.

Vijay

i think iit was through tracker you get it as standard

my mate used to keep his in the boot because didnt want to carry it around with him

his house got broken into and they robbed the keys for the bentley and got off with it

the bentley only got 30 miles away from his house and got cut off

i dont know how or why

Ho,

Don't think your mates bit of kit was the same, the idea of this is if the main unit gets beyond the set distance from the transponder unit, the circuit will cut and the car will cut out. You wouldn't leave the transponder in the car as it would defeat the object It would also stop someone getting far if they jacked your car.

it does exactly the same thing as that

if you have the transponder with you and walk away or the car drives off it cuts off after so much distance

Sorry, it threw me when you said it only got about 30 miles or so away, I assume tracker themselves cut it out then. I couldn't find any aftermarket system that did just the transponder part that was just a stand alone system, didn't know trackers have that as part of it

I hope i don't ruin your thread. On the market there is another system that works like this one. Is called Forced Ignition. YouTube - Carjacked at gunpoint I've seen this video on youtube and i was surprised about this device.
I've searched on the internet and I believe that the best way to protect you car from thieves is by installing:

1.Power lock or other device like it

PowerLock - Vehicle Security Systems Anti-Theft Devices

2.Alarm (here some funny but effective ones :P
YouTube - Funny Movie - Bizar Car Alarm
YouTube - Funny car alarm
I don't know were you can buy those, but they are great.
3.Tracker

4.Engine Disabler or Kill Switch

5.Backup battery

6.Forced Ignition or the device presented in this thread or another device
Forced Ignition

7.Have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) etched onto all of the windows.

Hope this helps you.

I almost forgot. Buy this device, it may save your car...
Cheers

Cristi

Hi Cristi,

Of course you've not ruined this thread, if there's something out there that's better and this thread points people in that direct then that's the most important thing. It's us car owners against the scum who have eyes for them

I have Antihyjack fitted to my cars, every time the door opens it triggers it and you have to touch a button so if you get pulled out,the door has been opened and it has started to count its self down, then it will start beeping intermitantly, then all the time and the car will stop with the horns still going off,
