Scrappy, the concierge service with car pick-up is running fine through the HPCs. Fully functional. No fear

My car goes in for its 1200 next week via the CS pick-up ... will let you know how it goes.

Thumbs up Concierge Service; 1200 Miles Optimisation Update - Part 1 Outbound

Laura @ Marshall has sorted everything out superbly.

Car shall be picked up by local contractor through RAC on Monday, taken to dealer and returned on Tuesday afternoon. Note, when booking the Concierge Service through your HPC there is an option to requests a courtesy car, which I did. The RAC hire this for you, mine was through National.

This Saturday morning a silver Vauxhall 1.9CDi Zafira Design MPV was dropped off to my house by National fully fueled and the hire period set for Monday to Tuesday next week, and with insurance included.

Car will transported from my residence to the HPC and back on a low-loader; it will not be under cover, but hey, GT-Rs are waterproof! Distance is about 250 miles each way for me.

HPC will call before starting work to discuss optimisation requirements.

I know the Nissan Concierge Service has been given a bit of slating, re. the original GT-R website, but NMGB and the HPCs really deserve a pat on the back for their pick-up service. I think it is truly excellent. In defence of the CS, the few times I actually rang the CS for confirming details of the Ring Race Academy day, they we're nothing but helpful and gave contact details with the Silverstone organisers so I could confirm some details, which were sketchy. So my own experience was good.

N.B. Must remember to call Cobra first thing on Monday to activate Transport Mode and Vehicle Servicing Mode.

Low-loading the next step.

Ok, more, later.

And don't forget to turn off the alarm sensor in the centre of the roof, or your alarm will go off when loaded onto the low loader...

Niceone aero. Excellent. So far so good.

Keep us updated on the pickup process if you can as im interested to see how much care the transport guys take over the pickup

On a second note id be inclined to get a car cover ready for the 250miles there and back tbh as it will keep it clean and any road debris damage wil be minimised fella. Worth looking into i think.

Thumbs up Concierge Service; 1200 Miles Optimisation Update - Part 2 Inbound

All's well that ends well. GT-R was returned safe and sound and nicely valeted at 20:45 on Tuesday after leaving my house at 13:00 the day before (low loader picked up a puncture was due for 08:00 pick-up but truck got repaired in front of my house!

Low-loading is not a job for the faint-hearted, often a matter of a millimetre or two for the front skirt with judicious use of wooden chocks!

Got some pix, will eventually post.

As promised, the Nissan Tech called me to go through the options; kept the original circuit tracking; had the rear park sensor lacquer scratch buffed up - still there not totally repaired, but much better. Will try some wax on wax off my end.

Eurocar National were a bit annoying; they called midday on the day of return with an urgent message to contact them; when I did they didn't know why but then said the rental period was over. Rental period on paperwork was 8am the next day. But a quick call to Laura @ Marshall and a request to the Concierge Service resulted in Eurocar being straightened out and the CS calling me to confirm an 8am pick-up the following morning.

So there I was waiting, until I called them at 08:30 to ask if the pick-up was on and I got the answer: "Oh no sir! The rental agreement end time is *NOT* the pick-up time, we can pick it up any time during the day...." I said: "... but I need to be at work now!" Eek!

Luckily they were happy for the keys to be left with a neighbour who happened to be at home all day, but not ideal... doh!

For info, Cobra asked that I call to activate Vehicle Service after Transport Mode and then reactivate Transport Mode, which required a few extensions due to the low-loader puncture. Couldn't do both days at once, but rather had to provide mode info each day.

36 hours later, a 500 mile round trip and a successful 1200 mile (well 1201) optimisation! Grateful thanks to the Marshall team and NMGB. It works !

Nice write up Aero - good to know. I see you took the Marshall's advice and got Laura to sort everything for you... I will do the same, although still have 800 miles to go!

ditto, nice writeup, was wondering how it went tbh. Sounds like a bit of ringing around was required due to circumstances outside your control but you got there in the end fella so welldone. Nice to see it all working though and thanks for taking the time to inform us of the process.
