Hey, thanks Rude Dog.

I like that. Quite understated and functional, just the job.

I've got one on the way now and all my other little bits too for the iPod hook up and a cubby hole.

Did your air vent surround pop out easy enough? Or was it a bit of a nightmare? I'm frightened to death of snapping mine when the time comes.

Send a message via ICQ to RSVFOUR
The air con/heater ducts at the top housing clips in on the two side so that is the best place to lever it out first.
Slow constant pressure with a wide lever (not a screwdriver) seems to work best as it spreads the load on the plastic trim
If any one brakes one I have a spare as have more gauges there now.

The two side, is that the wider side I presume?

To get mine out l used two knifes with flat thin blades inserted ln the sides about an inch from the bottom gently levered the drivers side first. Dont use a screw driver you will damage the vinyl

Rude Dog,

I've currently got my cage out and on the worktop after fighting with the old unit (bloody screws were seized solid ).

Now I'm looking at the new unit and wondering how the heck does it stay in the aperture/cage? I know it has a security frame but I was hoping for the simple life and just screwing it back into the frame above a cubby din. But it seems there is no provision for screwing into it from the frame.

I most likely will be up in the morning to have another play but if you see this message, would you mind letting me know how you did it. Did you buy any other special bits, like a din surround or suchlike. Thanks.

Red.
