Is it a big end bearing failure? Was the oil pressure low before or after the failure? Highest ever oil temperature?
Subarus often get big end bearing failure just after a top speed run, but a new short block is cheap for them.
Perhaps Nissan did not do Porsche standard high speed testing and this is not a good autobahn car. Needs more cooling, larger big end bearings, better or higher viscosity oil, cross drilled and/or nitrided crank?
In road use I can't even get my oil or transmission temperatures above about 93C, there just isn't the space to use power for any length of time so the engine has it very easy compared to autobahn use.
Will Nissan sell you a crank, bearings and rods to repair yourself? I thought they would only sell complete engines and transmissions to dealers to fit because of confidentiality of their designs, not that I believe the engine is particularly special in the sense of being overengineered like 4G63, 2JZGTE etc.
