I was just about to order an AP too after a month or so ummin and errin.
But this has made me think again, not that i think the AP has caused it but as i put in another thread it would be just my luck that my car would have an inherent fault that my surface AP or no AP. And an engine or G/Box failure would be my worst nightmare.
Let us know how you get on or what the diagnosed problem is, hope things work out ok
