Affordable CCTV

Apologies if there is any Threads on this subject I couldnt find them.

Im picking up my GTR in September and my Garage is not big enough therefore the GTR will sit on my Drive like previous cars.

I have wrought iron gates so the cars we have are in full view, but we are in a close so no through traffic (A Bonus), anyway whilst waiting for delivery of my GTR I have installed 2 x Ram raid posts one behind each gate and am now considering installing a Night vision CCTV camera kit which detects movement and records on your PC, (More visual deterrent) have any of you Guys or Girls installed one therefore have experience of quality for price etc

I have looked at the Motorola Home sight which looks real good value, but is it any good

Thanks in advance

CJ

There are plenty of systems which will fit within your budget that will be more than up to the job. Check out here: CCTV Forums - Powered by vBulletin

I appreciate this is not cctv related, but have you considered a simple alternative such as a breathable car cover? I have allocated parking in my residence and as such my car is more vulnerable then if I had a garage or driveway (although there is no through road).

A bonus is that if the car is left outside that you wont have to clean it as often!

Thanks and yes ive got a Car cover but just wanted as many visible deterrents as possible e.g. the Ram Raid posts I have at the entrance to my Driveway which cost a very reasonable couple of hundered quid.

My brother has a wirless CCTV set up for his front door where he has his car parked on the road approx 3 mtrs, and this works well and acts as a deterrent and cost a tad under £200 quid, what im not of sure of is whether this will suit my application because the distance from my house to the drive is 20mtrs.

Im currently researching all systems

There are several different physical detterents:

Battery Powered Bollard | Remote Control Bollard | Remote Control parking Post | Remote Control Parking reservation System | Battery Parking Post | Battery Parking reservation | Electric Bollard | Electric Parking Post | Electric Parking Reservation

This means not having to get out your car every time you want to leave the house.

The battery ones were not available when I purchased my Anti Ram Raid posts, I prefer the posts I have because they are simple and require absolutely no maintenance and are buried in a good lump of concrete
