Stupid petrol station rules - GT-R Register - Official Nissan Skyline and GTR Owners Club forum

Okay that's twice now!

Apparently if you go into a petrol station and you're in a car, rather than a truck, you are only allowed to put £100 worth of petrol in! How stupid is that? You have to stop there, go in, pay and then come back out to continue filling up and then go back in again to pay the final bit!

Okay so not everyone has a petrol tank the size of a chest freezer but you've had long enough to get me on camera and get my car details so I'm hardly likely to do a drive off!

Is this a local petrol station rule? stupidest rule I can think of, will only make waiting for others longer and business slower for the petrol station...

IIRC the Esso station near me has an even lower limit (£89 I think) if you use the pay-at-pump function...

Mind you, I only use that to fill up my daily drive, as the 33 lives soley on V-Power

i used to get a lift with a 17 year old lad when i was working in newcastle. The local garage would refuse to serve him because he wasnt 18!

Our local Asda (Pay-at-the-pump) has a maximum of £70.

Not that i'll ever get anywhere near that in the Micra, thankfully!

they wont let you pay by card in the same place if you fill up three times in a day either
