Optimisation service problem/question ?
my Car got picked up on Wednesday to go to MH for its optimisation service, I specified a closed lorry, and it turned up on time no issues, for some reason getting the GTR up the ramp required additional wooden planks to cut the attack angle, but once in it was all fine and dandy. Car arrived back this afternoon as promissed all nice a clean and ready to give it the beans, needless to say I went out for a quick run, I noticed two things.
1) The trip meter on the car had been reset and was reading 34 miles. Not really fussed, just wondered if it was normal to run a few miles during the Optimisation service? 2) when parked I noticed liquid comming from under the car, roughly above the passanger seat. it looks like water, don't fancy trying It! Would it be correct to assume this is the AC overflow exit ? I know it happens on my daily run arround. cheers Michael

Probably condensate from the aircon - as you cool air the water vapour in it condenses and the car just dribbles that onto the ground. Try running without the aircon and you should see it stop.

My first reaction to this is that if you have not done this something is wrong. The optimisation takes 2 hours or so and there should be no real driving required, certainly not 34 miles! My second reaction is exactly the same as my first.

when i got my car back today the oil temp was in it 80s . so i asume that had been driven.took it this was the norm for your optimisation

Having chatted a few times to my HPC technician I'd rather have him take it round the block after working on it, than just have gone by the book and hand it back........

I have the same damp patch a you described and it is definatley linked to the air con - nothing to worry about. I would say 34 miles is excessive for a service of any type!

2 or 3 miles should be enough, Middlehurst's Andy did this when my car had this done last year
