AAARGHH my gearbox gave up!!

was over taking today, and at 5000rpm it felt like the clutch went.

pulled over as i couldnt drive (slipping clutch like feeling).

switched it off for while then started her up again, had warning lights an transmission light is flashing

so i managed to limp home with only 1st,3rd and 5th gears.

CPR are collecting it tomoz.

wheely - sorry to hear its broken again but by the sounds of it, it just sounds like a solonoid issue which i think can be repaired rather than just replacing the tranny & whilst its out just get the PPG first gear set thrown in aswell, and then launch it like the space shuttle

Get the trans oil checked out in it as i saw a thread on here recently and the guy claimed there wasnt any tranny oil in there when he and a mechanic split the box open to look inside

well thats true unless there was a faulty sensor but what are the odds. Maybe its a faulty solenoid as ive read of a few in the US going/sticking due to cooked oil clogging it up.

Some have got away with a transmission fluid change in this situation, flushing out metal/debris that has blocked the solenoid as Scrappy said.
