My first Track Day Inspection done!!

Hi Guys
I have just had a Track day Inspection done after a Ring trip and Track Day at Silverstone GP Circuit. The R35 had done 4800 miles and will be off to the Ring again in two weeks so to keep my beast in peak condition due to the few thrashings.
I needed a rattle sorting in my door so got the quick 1 hour inspection done too!!
It was helpful as due to the right hand circuit the near side tyre was taking more of a bashing so they checked the Geometry and swapped the front tyre over to help wear!
They also down loaded the DREADED DATA to see what I had been up too!!! lol
Well what a load of fuss about nothing as what it mainly tells them is this..
Gear Box Temperature
0-60 deg 0
60-110 deg 267
110-140 deg 9
140 + deg 0
This meant that I had got it in the 110 -140 bracket 9 times which was meaning it would need the Transmission oil changing soon but it was only worrying if it showed a 140 +.
As my service is due in 1000 miles I was told that was fine and all was good with my car!!
PS that was roughly what was on the report as it got kept for records!!
So I am a happy man with Track Days under my belt, a warranty thats all fine, a Y pipe that has no effect on my warranty and a Legend of a car!!

Are there any official guidelines on the oil changewhen you get into the 110 - 140 deg bracket?

Also do we know what "times" means, is this a measure of how long you spent at this temperature or how many times with cooling in between you made that temperature?

This was mine after the 1200 mile service. Interesting that the brackets are slightly ?

0 - 20 0
20 - 80 35
80 - 110 121
110 -140 0
over 140 0

I did a track day at Goodwood yesterday and noticed that the trans temperature got to I think 115 so will book in and go through one of theses and see what we get?

Have to say it's a great pity that the MFD cannot display this info so that we can see after thevent what has happened....

Rate your HPC

Just did a new thread rate your HPC.......I se a common theme that Middlehurst seem to be the most accomadating HPC!!! If this is the case perhaps even though duistance is a problem we vote with our feet.

Still waiting for delivery.....any time soon

At the post trackday inspection , my tranny temps exceeded 120 degrees 9 times.

The head tech Steve (who worked on all the Race Academy cars for Nissan GB, and who is the guy for the R35 in the UK...) said Nissan state the fluids MUST be changed within 1800 miles from this inspection.

I think it is a very sensible idea to change the tranny fluids fairly often if you like tracking or very spirited driving.

Mine's getting done on Wednesday..

Rich
Rich, when I was at Oulton Park, I had the instructor keep an eye on the tranny temps on the MFD and as soon as we hit 120, we did a couple of cool down laps.

Nissan have stated that temps exceeding 110 degrees requires a full fluid change. Engine oil and tranny fluid.

Good idea in my book.

Hey there buddy! Still owe you that lap don't I?!

Never found the plate so had to have a new one made by Middlehursts. Apparently the exhaust heat melts the adhesive..... Wish I'd known that the other week!
