Extreme MR2 -> F430 conversion

It's very nicely done but it will always stay a bit sad.

From this:

Page with the whole build. (with video's of engine note!)

to this:

It's even got a fake engine!!

Oh dear god, the worrying thing is that the average joe would this that is an F430, the back quarter gives it away though, from a project point of view it is excellent but I would never do it! The cost of this must warrant something much faster than an MR2 and better looking than an F430 Anyone know how much it cost?

Dear god. Look at how wrong the rear end looks from the side.

What an epic waste. Is no supercar safe anymore?

F430s have a distinctive sound. Like other Ferrari V8s, but with the sound of scraping fingernails across a chalkboard blended in. If I had to choose one Ferrari, it'd be the F430 Scuderia, but that's based on performance. Soundwise, Ferrari has done far better in the past.

and anyways, wouldn't the cost of doing such a conversion, including all the little details, approach the cost of buying a real Ferrari anyways? maybe not a late-model F430, but surely a manual-shift F355 Berlinetta or even a 348?

depends on the angle but it doesn't look half bad. And the exhaust does sound "Ferrari-esque", I have to admit. It won't fool a connoisseur, but if you weren't listening that carefully and the car was within earshot but out of eyesight, you could definitely be forgiven for thinking you just heard a Ferrari.
