Cheers mate, saw that thread the other day.

I'm led to believe Forged Performance charge $1000 for an etune.....

Not sure I want to spend that kinda dough!

At just over 600 pounds with the exchange rate just now up at 1.633 CC it is probably not a bad time to do it just to be on the safe side?

Especially when you compare the cost versus what the likes of DMS charge in the UK for their standard mapping without custom work on other makes e.g. BMW and Audi etc!

Regards

Scotty

There is some sense in your idea Scotty, just that I'm a tightwad and I'm hoping COBB themselves may do an etune for a few pennies less!

Stay tuned (as it were!)

Nice write up David, thank you for your valued input, i have only had my one for a couple of weeks now and have noticed alot of excessive heat that comes into the cabin, from the front of the car to the rear, right down the middle of the car, have you noticed any increase of heat entering the cabin or is it the same as pre AP install? are you looking into ceramic coating the exhaust?

Zircotec high temperature coatings, ceramic coatings, engine, exhaust and manifold coatings.
The centre console does get a bit warm, but fitting a Y-pipe reduces it somewhat as it removes the secondary cats and the mid-silencer, both sources of a lot of heat.

I certainly don't think installing an AP would increase heat on a consistent basis.

Ceramic coating exhausts is a popular hot-rodding mod in the US, but doesn't seem as common over here. It is more usually applied to the exhaust manifold rather than the entire system.

And i thought i was a tight wad being a Jock....

590 US is a good price. I am sure they might even do a discount for GTR.co.uk members if you ask them? No harm in trying, even 10% would be nice, it would help soak up the exchange rate fees......

Regards

The European Distributor is Ben at GTC-R.

GTR 23 THE WORLDS BEST R35 GT-R PERFORMANCE PARTS

01438 833367

My opinion for what it is worth is to buy from the UK as Ben has put a lot of time and effort into the European Maps and will obviously be able to support you going forward with European firmware updates etc.

Regards

Scott

Where do you think my Accessport came from?

I will be having an etune done and Ben has confirmed that he is setup to sort that out for me.

Just awaiting details......
