We are also working on race cats, which should give better reving capabilites, but as yet haven't been able to put it on the rollers.

Might be worth while getting a meet together, of 5 or so cars with different specs to see what differance all the bits make.

just a thought.

I believe Fuggles is looking into a nationwide rolling road day. I have already sussed a venue for us SE'ers.

I have now loaded Stage 2 and wouldn't say the difference is as dramatic as the difference between stock and Stage 1.

A 99 RON map would be nice, but if it's that close to the edge you'd have to load the 97 RON map if you couldn't keep a tank full of the good stuff!

Custom mapping with your chosen fuel is probably the best bet.

Rich/Chubby saw your email but will post info here as well regards 99 ron map

Cobb Tuning currently do not have a GT-R mapper anymore (John S left), so 99ron EDM map likely won't come out anytime soon.

But we have just finished making a stage 2 99 RON EDM. Boost is the same as 97 RON stage 2.

Good for Tesco 99 users.

Not recommended for decat downpipes - users should start with stage 2 97 RON and send a log from where we'll need to make a custom tune.

Anyone who goes for a custom tune shoudn't feel short changed by free shelf 99 ron map.

If anyone else wants it mail me

Think rest of europe runs on 95 RON/ 85 MON premium gasoline or 98 RON/m88 MON super plus gasoline. Would think that 97 map would suit perfectly for 98?

The EDM 97 RON map is based on US 93 PON which on paper is the same as Euro 98RON/88MON, so you could think of it as 97+ or 97/98 RON.

If you have a Y pipe, you can use stage 2 as several others on here are doing the same.

Yup Stage 2 is fine with the Y-pipe, but I went Stage 1 first just to see the difference.

FWIW, I think there is a bigger step from stock to Stage 1 than there is from Stage 1 to 2, but 2 is definitely fastest!

I have had a/p stage 2 from Ben@GTC now for over a week and can honestly say the best £750.00 i have spent on a mod ever.
I would recommed it along with y pipe the extra power makes auto better and manual even more amazing.
Before auto was a bit jerky for me and bit slow with power delivery especially at roundabouts and juctions when coming to a stop and then moving off but now much more smooth usable and responsive in auto.
Manual well its awesome i feel the cars weight alot less and the extra power helps to power out of corners alot better just feels much more drivable and controlable for me.

I have miltec y pipe and car sounds a bit louder than before.

Only downside feels alot more scary in the wet wheelspins very easly and drinks alot more although maybe thats just me flooring it more.
As you can see not a very technical description of improvements but i will leave it to someone who really knows what they are talking about to do that.
I just think you guys shouldnt miss out on this thats all.

I have to agree with ASIF, apart from one thing....

You do get a better mpg if you don't use all the power all the time.

On my way to Castle Combe, last Friday I was getting high 24's and 25's at reasonable speeds, which is up from the usual 20's I was getting.

Only differance is I have a full Milltek system, and am now running Stage 2 99Ron.

Regards,

R.

Ooh, much difference with the 99RON map? Surely you should just go for a custom one?

Also did you ever run the car with just the Y-pipe, and if so what difference did adding the full cat-back system make?

And is it still quiet enough to run at Combe?

Not not a great deal of differance with the 99 Ron map - but I use 99 most of the time so hopefully it will run better.

No - never ran just the Y -Pipe, always had full system.

Didn't run it a Combe, as it was a VW Audi day, but am slightly concerned about noise testing as they want you to hold revs at 4500rpm when static, which the GT-R won't allow so i'm not sure how they will do a static sound test.

Car is at Millbrook at the mo having TUV testing done on the exhaust.

I've never tried, but are you saying the GT-R doesn't rev to 4.5k in N or P? Bizarre!

One thing I have noticed is that it won't let you build boost by left foot braking when driving along...

I would imagine it's something to do with the lauch control or something like that.

But why would you want to rev the engine over 3000rpm when stationary? Apart from to annoy the neighbours. :-)

Audi's do a simular thing when cold, will not let the engine rev over 4500 rpm.

All I can say is try it and see what happens. It shouldn't go much above 3500.
