Have done several static noise tests, car revs fine to whatever you want in P or N.

How strange, Not sure what was going on...

Perhaps mine is just being bloody 'awkward' - but as I said will try again when it comes back.

R.

David - watch out at Combe, not a great deal of run off areas if it goes tits up - and I hear the green stuff doesn't slow you down much..

Yeah I am very familiar with Combe and its hazards. I did my very first track experience there back in 1988!

Raced there in Caterhams too, although I think the GT-R will be a bit more interesting under braking for Quarry...

So how many differant maps are there? i thought it was just a standard stage 0, 1 & 2 and then a custom map

Here are my results from dynoing with different Cobb maps. My car is a US model that I imported into Norway September last year. Modifications are K&N insert filters, HKS resonated midpipe and Mine's Ti Catback exhaust and offcourse the Cobb AP. I dynoed in US before shipping in and on a Dynojet it made 410 stock, 420 with Mine's and 461 with Mine's and Cobb stage 1 (1.04 version with boostspikes).

Went dynoing again in June this year after installing midpipe and got a Custom map from Sharif. Dynoed at a shop that has Dynapack dyno (the one that you bolt on as wheels) and did 2 runs with stock Cobb map, 2 runs with Stage 2 map and 1 run with custom map before we got clutch overheat problems. The runs where done in 5th gear as that is 1,00 ratio and that was what the tuner wanted and also VDC off. The graphs say flywheel torque/power, but it is wheel torque/power.

Here are a graph showing the stock/st 2/custom NM/HP

GTR Overlay

and showing the boost on the different maps

GTR Boost

Stock map. As you can see it is well down on my earlier dyno that was 410 and now it is 409 with y-pipe and catback that adds around 22 whp. Might have somthing todo with it being dynoed in 5th gear.

GTR Stock

Stage 2 map

GTR Stage 2

Custom map. Look how much smoother this graph is.

GTR Custom

Compare stock vs Custom gives you close to 60 whp and a lot more torque

GTR Stock vs Custom

Compare Stage 2 vs Custom gives you close to 30 whp and also much more torque

GTR Stock vs Custom

Coming back to the reving when static.

Got my car back to day and it would rev over 5000rpm, what ever you do...

Which now I am sure is an improvement on the last time I tried it as it wouldn't go above 4000 rpm...

Need some assistance here to understand why.??

Tried mine today and you're right, it doesn't go above 5k in P or N.
But then again, I can't think of any circumstances where you would want it to!
Noise tests are all done at 4,500rpm max, which it does fine.

Combe was brilliant fun by the way, will post up a thread tomorrow.

Was noise tested at Goodwoood yesterday and the wanted 3/4 max revs, so 5250 ish, and yes you are right it only goes to 5000.

Rich
Only you would be so precise! I'm sure 5k was fine?

What did it measure?
