They asked what the red line was, I said 7000, they asked for 5250 and were not happy with 5000. However when I said that was as high as it goes they made a note.

88dB, and although I have been measured at different times with different meters the trend is up, so I think you should plan on at least a 6dB increase from a new car measurement, who knows if it will continue to climb with age?

I suspect age is part of the increase you have seen, not just the Y pipe.

I would recommed it along with y pipe the extra power makes auto better and manual even more amazing.
Before auto was a bit jerky for me and bit slow with power delivery especially at roundabouts and juctions when coming to a stop and then moving off but now much more smooth usable and responsive in auto.
Manual well its awesome i feel the cars weight alot less and the extra power helps to power out of corners alot better just feels much more drivable and controlable for me.

I have miltec y pipe and car sounds a bit louder than before.
Music to my ears ASIF. I thought perhaps I was alone in thinking the standard car was baulky and uncooperative, especially at junctions.

Is there a way to de-cat the car without an appreciable increase in noise? If not then I'll have to stick with the standard system, but use the AP at stage-1.

Also, with a custom map, can the gearbox control be modified? e.g. I'd like a single paddle-flick while in auto to not just switch to manual but also perform the gear change. I'd also like the 'box not to attempt to select 1st gear for me while in manual.

Oh man

I just fitted mine today and straight to the stage 2 map as i have the y-pipe. WHAT a difference it makes. An amazing difference in the power delivery and much smoother throughout the rev range. Cant tell if the fuel consumption is any better at the moment as ive been hammering it a bit. Its a real neat piece of kit as well and very easy to work, even for a technophobiac idiot like myself. Thanks GTC for the prompt service also

Yip i second that buy from Ben - support the guys actually carrying out detailed work on their very own car and who are here to stay.

Great thing about GTC is Ben will NOT let you spend money on a part you don't need, Britain's worst salesman if you ask me.......

That is a compliment Benji, god knows how many times this last month or so you have told me to "Step away from the plastic".....lol

This is very clearly a "must have". All credit to Ben. Has anyone had experience of an HPC taking a dim view of it?
