I never get that. How can you compare two completely different cars with such different heritage backgrounds? The age old Scoobie / Evo / Skyline argument is pointless. Ones based from a racing car, the other is based from a rally car?

Yeah okay with some work both are capable of entering the others discipline, but at the end of the day surely its the Scoobie / Evo thing more of which Evo wins every time

surely if you're a dedicated petrol head with a little over 50k to spend on your new wheels than you'll be looking at both of these options - how on earth would the racing versus rally heritage change that simple fact?

You'd be mad not to try both cars (and maybe one or two others too) before you chose to buy your GTR!

I disagree. You're more likely to have owned an Evo/Scooby and 'moved up' to a GT-R.

The Evo 8 MR gave me the first taste for speed. I loved how nimble and responsive it was when I first got it, and the 6 speed manual is still something I miss.

I always admired the R34 from afar. It was a brute. Powerful and menacing. But too expensive and already out of production by the time I got into cars. Wife still says mine is the "fake" GTR cos she too loves the R34.

The R35 is very grown up. When I first drove up, that's what I thought. A grown up Evo. Very civilized. Smooth. Something you could drive to the track, back to pick the missus from the office, then head off to dinner some place nice. All in the same day.

My modded Evo had a decent amount of power, with a turbo upgrade, but it was harsh for a daily drive, the turbo made it laggier which wasn't as much fun for a daily drive either. It also made a loud ruckus everywhere I went and wasn't always welcomed in some establishments

You just need to space out the cones a little and the GTR would win that too.
Unless Simon Norris gets hold of the GTR and shortens it for us
