Right, iv tried to cross of every possible problem. so heres a list of everything iv tried.

1.Firstly a compression check
Cylinder 1 = 157
Cylinder 2 = 152
Cylinder 3 = 155
Cylinder 4 = 170
Cylinder 5 = 163
Cylinder 6 = 155

2. Checked spark plugs, which are brand new. (Swapped No 1 with No 6)

3. Checked coilpacks. (Swapped No 1 with No 6)

4. Checked for spark, by removing coilpack and plug, resting on earth and checking for spark strength.(compared with other cylinders)

5. Checked injectors. (Swapped No 5 with No 6) no difference

6. Replaced plug with one of a smaller gap to make sure it wasnt being blown out.

7. Checked injector cycle, to make sure they were opening and closing continuously.

After doing all this i made sure that there was a clean spark coming from the plug that was continuous. it seemed fine, although i couldnt see it at first as i was looking a it in direct sunlight. what a donkey lol.

So at the moment it seems to just fire on 5 cylinders on tickover. when revved it sometimes seems to kick in at around 3000rpm, but not all the time.

Could this be something to do with the ecu meaning either the ignition or fueling is slightly out?

Any thoughts would be appreciated before I pull my hair out

that is wierd lol
the spark was a nice white one not a fluffy blue one?

must be only marginal if you hear it kick in every now and again
maybe try unplugging inspecting and replugging the ecu and ign amp to see if its a dodgy connection
bit like grasping at straws

how long since you last had it running right befor the fault appeared?
other than that somthing daft like a semi blocked cat

it was definitely nice n white.

tried checking the voltages across the ignition amp. Seemed fine. surely if that was knackered all cylinders would be playing up?

I did put the cat back on for the mot, but would that really cause it to be running like this?

lol except theres no straws left
