Be aware that the system tries to return 99% of the pumped fuel when the engine is idleing, so make sure you have a good sized return.

thanks for your interest.
thought so too, also wondering if my swirl pot 1.2liters wouldnt be too small for 2x 044 ?

what do u mean by good sized return ?
***934;7,5mm for in/out hoses is good or not ?

cheers !

How many thousand gazillion HP are you running to need 2 pumps?

#1. I use that setup although my 044s are both in-tank. Same Aeromotive fpr, but one very critical addition. Each end of the fuel rail is fitted with an Aeromotive checkvalve. I run my turbos a bit harder than most, so a single 044 might be at the limit, but two is overkill. That being said, 600bhp cars are right on the fence between single and dual pumps.

But my main purpose for choosing the #1 design is that, with the checkvalves, a fuel pump can fail and although rail pressure will fall by about 0.5 bars, the remaining pump can still support 1.5 bars boost (on my car) and by readjusting the fpr, you could drive around quite normally until you get around to replacing the dead pump.

In single pump systems, a dead pump equals a flatbed. And if it dies when you are hard on boost, you can run lean and melt your pistons. Rare, but it happened to me.

I use a stock rail with -8 fitting one end and a -6 on the other, for the return. Many after market rails actually have a smaller bore than the stock one, the HKS on for example In your third drawing you show the return from the rail going to ther main tank, which is incorrect, it should always go back to the swirl pot.

This is what I made for my car, I may use it with another engine (a 6.3 litre race V6 that drinks fuel, so the very large swirl pot and double 044 pumps were fitted, which is probably overkill for a 500 BHP RB26) :

I will be running this set up but with the return from the fuel rail going back to the main tank why return hot fuel into the swirl pot ?

Why bother with any of it? A single pump in the tank is ok.

Sorry for the hijack (and the dumb question) - what are the two blue cylinders in between the fuel pumps?

They are fuel filters (cleanable) and there's another one between the in tank lift pump and the swirl pot.
