a big concern of mine at the moment is that AMS and SPE are cracking the blocks with so much torque running 1200hp 1000 trq .

the blocks are cracking and spilling water..

however my car has the wet sleeve kit which Jun are currently testing at 1200hp and over 1100 trq and they are supposed to be more effecient than dry sleeve.

so am really not sure if am going to RISK the car to silly power..

might opt fto 950-1000bhp and 800-850 trq..

Yeah I've been following those threads too.
Jurgen why risk the engine you've waited so long for and paid so much for just to have the bragging rights of a "1200hp" car?

1000hp is already pretty darn amazing and if your block means it can run that reliably into the long term then you have something very special indeed.

Tuning houses may be able to afford to blow up blocks (although most appear to be doing it with customers' cars ), you and most of us certainly can't.

Think about what you will really use the car for and build it to that would be my advice.

What I'd like to know is if anyone has built a genuine 1000hp GT-R engine that can reliably produce (and sustain) that power on superunleaded pump fuel. No race gas, E85 or octane boosters. Now that, would be really impressive...

am thinking like you mate too.., i know mine has the wet sleeves to cope with more than the dry sleeves but..

i will run it safe until a solution is found (am not risking my block for like you say 1200bhp bragging rights)..

850-950 will be more than enough for now.

This is my favorite build on here.Ams are having problems!!But Switzer are having zero problems they have run there motors up two 45psi with no head gaskets blowing.Must be damn hard getting by on a mere 1000 brake...

If not a 1000 bhp what are the reliable limits that have been achieved so far?

This is a fabulous build Jurgen, and a beautiful car. If you make 1000 reliable bhp, it's going to much more fun that driving a 1200bhp grenade that you have to worry about every time you use full boost.

i think their are a few guys missinga trick hear...design a 1200bhp car run 1000bhp...design a 1000bhp run 800bhp...
lets not get bitchy..with the 1200bhp tag!

im building an 8sec car end of...if we have to take it to 1400bhp then so be it
maybe were designing a 1400bhp car and only need to run 1000bhp!

jurgan has gone the "jun" route...to say its safe at 1000bhp..lol
i think like everyone, he will have to turn, it down imho
to what power level? unfortunatly no one has a chrystal ball
hence we over engineer, produce cars far more powerful than we req(they then dont ever run 10/tenths
good luck with this car..i hope you do test it out and not, have paid all that money out for nothing kk

i will be happy to run 900bhp 950-bhp from it rather than take a risk..

at least then when time comes i have the potential to turn boost up to more if i need it..

i have build this car for me to enjoy and be reliable am not going to chase 8seconds to potentially break it.

i will wait to see what happens to other cars this time instead of pushing my car to the limits.

i think this is a safe option to try,.

yes it has been over engineered but that was always the aim and now am really happy that i chose the wet sleeves.

we will be testing it dont worry about that, but we will start at 50% of its potential first.

Yeah it looks great, was toying with the idea of 10mm ones all round but seeing yours i don't think it would be enough.
