What will SPE be changing?

Any idea on power/torque?
they will be changing the wheel size not sure on torque but power will be around 1000-1200.

hi alex,

i spoke to cr about the turbos and its just as cost effective to send them to SPE (since they have already done some and have everything in place to swap over)..

thats why they are getting them.

small update..

am changing the spec a little on my car..

i have decided to send my manifolds and downpipes to zircotec to get them coated to reduce the heat they will produce..

i have also decided to have my new Greddy TD06 turbos sent to SPE to get them reworked so they can support 1100 AWHP..

so what this mean is that the car will now run around 1050bhp to 1100bhp in UK power terms,.

here is a graph of a similar kit did from SPE but with no stroker kit.

i have also decided to get a HPX sensors and a 90mm race exhaust system and y-pipe courtesy of GTC.

SPE will also be supplying me -

PPG 1st gear
OS Giken diff to keep the power down
SPE Custom fuel set up and lines and FPR
HKS pumps (these flow and are bigger than walbros and with no carrier mods)
ARP head STUDS
Low temp theremos
HKS headgasket and HKS manifold gaskets
HD CLUTCH BASKET FOR 1,3,5,R
HD CLUTCH BASKET FOR 2,4,6
HD PISTON AND "SEAL FOR LIFE" FOR 1,3,5,R
HD PISTON AND "SEAL FOR LIFE" FOR 2,4,6 AND MECHANICAL CIRCLIP
HIGH TEMP PISTON SHAFT SEALS
16 EXEDY GTR FRICTION DISKS
14 EXEDY GTR STEELS
4 EXEDY GTR END SHIMS

i think this above will hopefully help keep power down and hold box together..

the build will now begin properly in JAN when all my other parts return from SPE etc..

am now really looking forward to see what this car will do next year..

am hoping the car will do a low 9sec pass and also be drivable on the street, lookinng at them graphs i think the car will be ok for street driving,.

am only going to do one run at the pod as no doubt they will ban me for no cage or shute..

Your block is very different to the original JUN 4.0 stroker pictured.

Can you tell us more about the holes drilled around the block liners and the machined indent - it looks very special, indeed, I guess these replace all the original waterways.

Yours...

JUN original kit

yes JUNICHI at JUN got his staff to install wet liners to help with the cooling..

i presume these are maybe more waterways to aid cooling, also my JUN block had the Capricon pistons fitted along with a billet crank,.

BTW am really glad to hear your happy with your JUN stroker, others have also echoed the same thing,.

am really excited to get this thing running early next year.

Dodson clutch/piston/seals, any particular reason why you went with PPG for first gear?

Is this any good?

i have went with the PPG as the SPE cars run them and eugene at SPE said my car will be fine with these and he recommend this set up..

i have the OLD LC1 4500 rpm (one of the reason my car was the 2nd into the tens last year even with some really really old software back then - the maps ben has now and extras would maybe have got me 10.7s or 10.6 in todays world if i had old spec)..

so the LC1 really helped me along in the past.

so am glad i never had this changed over to LC2, but i belive you can change it with the cobb now.,

that link you sent of heat exchanger is good (are you buying it ?).

thanks mate , you know what its like when you start a project BUDGET IN MIND then it doubles , but the car has to be right and equipped with right parts (i was far too deep into it , that its my only option)..

am sure nothing on the road for £ will compare to it.

Really hope I get to see this in the flesh

The new NIS-006 can indeed adjust launch settings.

My next purchase will be gearbox upgrades, just looking at the most economical way of preparing the car for stock turbo upgrades in the future.

What is the Willall stuff like, seems relatively cheap in comparison, albeit not as comprehensive as Dodson.

WR35 SERIES TRANSMISSION PARTS
WR35CC - GTR Transmission Gears fastener set - $370
WR35PS - GTR Gearbox Piston Seal replacement - $390
WR35CCL - GTR Clutch Retaining Clips - $150
WR35CP - GTR Composite Clutch Packs - $995
WR35SRK - GTR Mainshaft Repair Kit - $650

I'm in Aus in a few months, so would save a lot on shipping if it's worth while.
