Hi all,
Was just wondering if anyone know best/realistic racing game. I found that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, the GT-R is not very well represented, brakes lockup and the car just slides (specially on oval tracks) i cannot believe that a Corvette is easier to drive! Also doesn't work with playseat steering gears :-( Until now i liked Need for speed shift the best. Any one else has any other suggestion? I want most realistic as possible tnx

Need for speed games are more arcade style than driving simulators. Gt5 is the best simulator but I agree it's far more twitchy in the game than in real life.
It doesn't work with the H pattern gears in game as the car is dct with paddles in real life. I can't believe I've had the ps3 3 years and got the steering wheel etc, yet still the full GT5 (only reason I bought it) isn't out.

Hi everyone, maybe that in the game you can crash the car and try again and the car stays again like new.

Hi all,
I drove the GTR for miles and miles and miles on the Nordsleife and Spa in the game rFactor. rFactor is a race simulator and not an arcade game. On my YouTube channel you can get an idea of the looks of the car, and the way it drives. This is my channel: YouTube - valcked's Channel Video 1: YouTube - Nissan GTR in rFactor Game Video 2 (GTR here weighs 1200Kg and has 700Hp + 4x4) Fun but not realistic : ![]() YouTube - Nissan GTR in rFactor Game new run in 6:23 IMPORTANT NOTE: As the model I bought (Nissan GTR; costs 10***8364; or so on the internet) had a VERY bad physics model, i made some alternates. So please don't tell me that 6min and something is not realistic, I know. I also developed more realistic models that got around in 7min40 or so. Model of the GTR for rFactor: The cars is a commercial***65279; product sold by Dream Ride Project, you can google it. The model costs 6***8364; i believe. rFactor can be found on: rFactor | The Future of Race Simulation rFactor is opensource, so there are hundreds of tracks and cars and scenes, etc: rFactor Central - Community Driven Sim Racing Resource for rFactor | rFactor Car mods, rFactor Tracks, Car Setups, rFactor Screenshots Unfortunatly I has serious issue with my gaming PC and lost all ... so I would need to start over ... BUT now i have a real GTR, and that is much better! To play the game you need a fast Windows based PC (not a monster, but a good one), with a very good graphics cards if you want the image to be fluent and beautiful. Best to also get an good steering wheel, like a Logitec G25 or G27 (new model). http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming...s/devices/5184 And some sponsoring ... Lots of GTR design info video by Kazutoshi Mizuno in my other post: The Nissan GTR R35 ... Video's and Explanation of the GTR (by Kazutoshi Mizuno) Hope this can help, Dirk

hallo Dirk,
Dankje voor de info! I will look up the game looks interesting. I got a monster 2x quadcore Xeon, i must chek what the video card is, probably will cope. See is i can get the computer connected to the 42" Plasma TV Any change you can send me your GTR for the game? I got a play seat with logitech G27 Playseats store Playseats white + logitech g27 Playseats store Why drive the game instead of the car? Easy to learn the tracks and develop driving skills! Need for speed- SHIFT is a lot better the GT5 people, and it works with the G27 steering wheel with gears on the wheel (flappy paddle gearbox)

Hi X,
With the CPU's you should be fine, just remember that Xeons are number crunchers, for games the clock frequency is more important (combined with power of course). It could be that your PC has a OpenGL optimized card, common in workstations. A more DirectX optimized card is advisable ... but i think you should be fine. As you can get a free download of a game demo, just give it a twirl!! A TV has a lower resolution than a good PC screen, so again, probably your graphics will be fine. I'm very sorry, but i have nothing left of my endeavors with tuning the GTR (and I neither am not happy with this ... )For me as well it is about the tracks and learning every corner (as you can see in my videos). AND you can drive as fast as you like without costs by car or police! :-) I also agree on the Need for Speed Shift, the game is very well made and fun to drive in. Of the current games I think it belongs to the better ones. From rFactor there is a rFactor2 underway. It should have a more impressive look and physics engine. But this will be for the end of the year or later (i think). GTR2 was/is also a very good game. Lots of settings and tuning of the cars behavior. For this one as well you can find lots and lots of tracks and cars, mostly free as with rFactor. PS: There are GREAT Nordsleife tracks on the sites i gave you ... and they are all free .... long live open source racing games!! Have fun!!!
