I won't give you the max boost treatment, lol, but a R32 GTR is pretty cheap these days and there's plenty of them around in NZ, as max boost said I didn't want to start with a heap of junk, it just makes for more work, it also means I have lots of tidy parts to sell to help get some mony back.

Also by using a nice shell with de-reg papers and not cutting the chassis it also leaves the option open to get it road legal.

Rob

Looking real good!

When you say factory gearbox will it be totally stock or strengthened internals?

what kind of times are you aiming for?

Great project though Rob and loving the original ideas

Upgraded parts as required but still shifted by hand, not air or sequential etc.

Not sure really, it'll run what it runs, but I'd say 9s would be imminent lol.

Yeah, well I couldn't care less about what Maxboost thinks of my last post! I still think that all you needed for the build was a rolling shell, since there won't be a single panel on the car that will remain stock.

So you build drag cars for a living too then?

Nissan built 43,930 R32 GTR's, what possible reason could you have for saying that? It isn't as if they are going to disappear all of a sudden is it

Maybe true about the panels, that just gives me more good parts to sell :-)

I had a car here and by the time you go out any find and buy a decent roller that hasn't been crashed and then during the build find all the little bits you need, it always ends up just about as expensive as just starting with a complete car.

Well said.

Lets have constructive comments only guys, shall we. Support the cause or sit down, shut up, watch and learn.

Someone here is doing something good and bothers enough to post the whole build thread bit by bit as he goes. We should be thankful and learn what we want as we go.

Now where were we..........

Its all about locality mate. NZ has plentiful of somethings and UK has others. We cringe too when we find you lot enjoying those that you have a multitude of so just suck it up when we do the same. Its no different then a good car meets its fate in a road crash and is written off, sad but its fate. I would rather one goes through the build like this one then be written off. Yes, we would like to keep all our cars in showrooms but that is quite unrealistic.

Besides, why "cry over spilt milk", that 32 with RIPS has already gone through with the work, am sorry to say. Rob's car, Rob wants it to be a dragcar, so be it.

I have some stock doors, front guards and a bonnet???

Seriously though, I can see where your comming from but tidy R32 GTRs are pretty cheap here and nothing special, besides as I said, I did't want to start with a heap of junk or a car with lots of things misssing, for what I wanted, it was perfect

If your a purist then it might pay not to watch this thread too much more, its going to get ALOT worse I assure you

Rob
