Hi Ron

Admiring you work on this car. The detail work is excellent!!
Looked through the build thread trying to find info how you are going to controle AWD drive. Locking it 50/50 or having electronics adjust it according to traction ??

We have a 5 postion switch to control pump pressure from 0-50%.
works realy well, with cold tyres we turn it up and then after turn it down .

Amazing build and obviously expected no less having seen your previous cars.

Quick question, is the black turbo staying, would black not promote it to hold on to heat?

Black objects radiate heat better than other colours. Hence black leather seats tend to burn your skin, not due to holding heat, but due to radiating more, So Radiators and Intercoolers would all benefit from being black, as will this turbo.

Not arguing as I'm unsure, but surely wearing a black T-shirt in the sun makes you hotter inside?

I would disagree, but then I've just thought, the hot side of the space shuttle, (Bottom), is black!

Regardless, the temperature up heat that the black paint will cause will be immeasurable, especially on the other side of that intercooler.

You've got a manifold that will be close to 800***8226;c right next to the turbo so once again I'll use my t shirt analogy and say that even in 27***8226;c direct heat my black t shirt makes me hotter, so surely it will be extenuated by the black turbo compressed and ultimately heat the charged air

When rips are building water jacket plenums surely every degree centigrade counts?

black objects "look" black because they do not reflect light, it is absorbed and so appears dark, and the light energy transforms into heat
hence a red shirt only reflects the red wavelengths of light etc

white shirts reflects all wavelengths of visible light and therefore appear colourless

as there is very little light under rons bonnet i would imagine the colour is irrelevant.

I think some people are worrying about the whole black colour issue too much. Weather black or silver the difference will be minimal.

Rons done it because he's loving the black and red look. Lol

Re the black front of a space craft, that's slightly different as there ceramic tiles to stop the front melting!

Also the "black T-shirt" idea. Do you think that black brembos are less efficient than red, gold or yellow ones?
