Whoops, better put a bit more or else I'll have to accuse myself of using 3 word replies!

I think it needs a conclusion, whether you have 2 post or 2,000 post a person can still scam you, i think if your selling something you need to have your name on some paper next to the part your selling, failling to do so mean it gets removed, its not hard to do and you got take a picture of your part, item whaterver anyway.

I understand its about getting an idea for the person but I think most of us REGULARS on here are cluded up to know if its to good to be true. If in doubt dont buy it.

All my opinion of course, I bought from people on other fourms who have had under the required amount before being able to sell and had no problems. End of the day its not the fourms responsibilityits just down to you being wise. We can only guide.

Mikey
btw i have loads of parts for sale

but they're all advertised on skylineowners

the picture with the username of the seller next to the part is a good idea also but as i said anyway you still can be scammed even with a name next to the part

when you see parts going on here for 1k that goes new for over 3/4k it is still a bargain so as soon as you pretty sure that the seller have the part then you should go for it... loads of people wont pay 1500 quids for a triple plate or twin plate clutch when they can get some used with loads of meat left for 600 on here

picture with name and trader score are pretty good way to not be scammed

Bear in mind we do notice people who reply to lots of posts with very short replies.

If I see too many in a day, I delete them. Bear that in mind!

I agree with you about the thread going nowhere but, without wanting to sound awkward, don't most threads veer off a bit? I've lost track of how many I've picked up on and there are discussions about something totally different to the original subject and people arguing for the sake of it.

The thing is, if the mods stamped down on the pointless stuff it would be a full time job for them and not a lot of fun for the rest of the people using the forum.

Chasing down spammers is a bit of fun and this was the thread to do it in. I can't see why people just can't make a tiny bit more effort and post up a well thought out reply rather than a GLWS or Great car mate. It's lazy and it spoils things for me. I know I probably post as much jokey crap as I do serious stuff but at least I think before I type. Not to worry, it'll get forgotten about soon enough.

Agree with your view Tazz, i dont want to put more work on others, just an out come, like private sale must have name next to item to prove you actually have it to start with. I tend to skip the short posts, i do like to read people views, ideas etc.

Think of it as the GTROC Big society.

Basically, you, the community have been empowered, by the moderators lack of interest and online porn, to take responsibilty for the hunting down and slaughtering of spammers and scammers.

Whilst me and Toni and Rob sit around playing Xbox eating cheeto's, you the community are rewarded by spotting, condemming and then laughing about anyone you deem to be "on the blag"

Once you have done all the hard work, i will get out my iphone and press random buttons until someone gets banned.

The Big society WORKS!
