I bought Medal of Honor on release on Friday.
Having finished the single player campaign over the weekend (it seemed quite short like CODMW2), I really enjoyed it.

I don’t think that it deserves all of the over critical reviews its getting either. Yes, it’s not an uber polished experience like CODMW2, but in my opinion its pretty damn good.

Also I think that far far too many people are just lazily comparing it to CODMW2, without giving it a chance.

If you’re on the fence, definitely worth a shot I'd say (no pun intended lol)!

I was talking to a mate who bought it, he said it's ok, but the campaign is stupidly short, and taking out the (unskippable!) cutscenes, you could probably run through it in a couple of hours. He did the SP campaign in about 5 hours, first go.

Also, unless you like MP (which a LOT of the achievements are tied to) it's not really worth a buy new. He didn't think much of the AI either, either randomly shooting you by mistake, or running into your gunfire, or just blocking your route to cover while you're being shot at!

Needless to say it's not one I've preordered, but that's just based on his opinion.

and you cannot compare the game graphics to the stunning 60fps trailers.
At least not on consoles. The graphiccs look worse and older than MW1.
The game itself is ok but nothing special. If you want a choice, wait till black ops, you can't be wrong with a call of duty

I don’t think the campaign levels are much different in length to CODMW2, its just that you don’t have hoards and hoards of bad guys coming at you, so you get through the levels a bit quicker.

I'll check tonight, but I think the cut scenes are skippable (don’t quote me on this though!)

I'll be getting Black Ops when it comes out, but I really thought MOH was a refreshing change of pace.

I was hopeing so too but was a bit disappointed. But the story is said to be very good. Well I'm not through yet so I can't judge on that.

@N15MO: Remember your words about hordes and hordes... when you play the Rangers mission when taking cover in that hut

And yes the cut scens are skippabel by hitting x or the equal button on xbox

Agreed. It is why I harldy pay any attention to reviews these days as more often than not they're biased to a certain degree. Too bad that some people are over reliant on them though. Was asked about Medal of Honour on the DC2 forum (mentioned I was playing whil waiting fo Black Ops) and someone jumped straight in saying so and so review says its crap -_- Has this joker even played the game? Nope!! Then again he's a bit of a . He's pretty much criticised everything that has come out after MW1 without even playing them, so go figure

Seriously? I'll have to tell him that! All I could hear the other night was "blah blah bloody cutscenes!" through my X41's, lol.

Completely different style of games, but I've just bought Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Gothic 4: Arcania and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, all very good games. Castlevania is awesome, a really good change to the classic side-on platformer. I actually enjoyed this one! Bosses are HUGE too!

Here'S a good crossover review and reading the users comments is quite helpful.
Overall it seems like a solid 85% game.
Just have a look

Played the demo of it and indeed seems to be quite a game!! Funny that it wasn't Castlevania to begin with though!! Something about the Castlevania teram taking over another project in progress and rebranding it Castlevania iirc

I played it and completed the single player mission in a few hours. It seemed shorter than the COD MW2 single player experience and certainly not as polished. I had real issues with the AI causing me to get into situations where I couldnt trigger the next scripted event. One example was storming a maching gun emplacement with the rangers after the wadi section. The machine gunner was impervious to over 2000 rounds and i couldnt kill him to trigger the guys to move up towards the emplacement. Had mto restart the whole mission, restarting from checkpoint didnt work. Things like this happened in other missions too.

There are some really good bits like the helicopter mission but the AI and scripted events make if feel like a medicore game.

Not bothered much with online yet

Personally I think I preferred it to CODMW2, I played both back to back, and, only play single player campaigns as I have niether the internet bandwidth nor the skill / patience to play online.

I have the PC versions of both and definately prefer MoH, I certianly prefer the missions that require longer distance shooting that seem lacking in COD. The AI in Moh though, do seem to be unnervingly accurate with thier fire!!.
