Determining Clutch Brand
I am in need of a new clutch for my 1991 R32 GTR. I really like the clutch that is in it now, but I have no idea what brand/model it is. Is breaking the transmission loose the only way to see what kind of clutch I have? Also, when it comes to removing the transmission I have read some posts saying it's okay to lay the transmission down if you haven't raised the car up a long way. Are the fluid lines the only things keeping me from just unbolting the tranny and moving it off to the side? Finally, do I have to have a clutch alignment tool in order to change a clutch? Seems like it is just nice to have rather than a requirement. Does that requirement vary when dealing with twin or triple plate clutches?
Thank you!
