Cold calling computer scammers

Unbelievable what people do to try and get money out of you nowadays.

Had a call a short while ago, number 'out of area'. Knew my name, told me my computer was at urgent risk of viral attack and they wanted to help me sort it out.

Now I'm no mug, but I'd also seen something on the news literally two days ago about these firms ringing up and uploading software onto your computer and then charging your credit card so you can get access to your own files!

Be warned people!

Bastards!!

I hung up...I could still hear him screeching about the dire risk I was at as I put the phone down, LOL.

You should've pulled the old "don't you know who I am?" on him and when he found out your moderator status he'd have backed down I'm sure!

Well, it works on here.

Dunno I didn't give them a chance! He sounded so panicky though I can see why they catch people.

I got the same call, from David, who, judging by his accent clearly wasn't called David. When I pressed him on who he worked for he said "windows". He said that 4 times, then the 5th time I asked him he said Microsoft.

I listened to his speel then told him I didn't have a computer, he nearly had a fit and spat his dummy out, he told me my name and address though, just in case I'd forgotten it I suppose.

I love cold callers, most fun u can have at home with your clothes on.

Them: "Can i speak to the home owner please".
Me: "That would be me".
Them: "Can i just introduce my................"
Me: "Can i just stop you there and ask one question."
Them: "Yes"
Me: "When was the last time you had your windows replaced, you know with the new regualtions on double glazing, that you can probably save enough money on fuel bills that they pay for themselves."
Them; "Err but can i..................."
Me: "Conservatory maybe, i can get you a cracking deal at the moment."

And on it goes............kitchens, bathrooms, carpets even cars. Love em. They seem to get fed up before i do.

The biggest complaint i have now is these automated ones, where's the fun in that. .

The fun is answering your phone whilst someone is with you, then when you realise the message is automated, you snarl "why don't you **** off?" and then see the look on the other persons face.

^^^^ I tell them to f**k off anyway, it's much more satisfactory knowing some c**t has just had the wind taken out of their sails. A few months ago I was constantly being hassled on the phone by some kitchen company. I told them several times to remove me from their list and stop ringing me. After the umpteenth call I shouted, "Well f**k off then you fat northern c**t". She never rang me again.

Had a similar cold call on my work mobile - I also told them to f**k off and never call again... you should have seen the look on my boss's face as he thought it was a client

The next time any cold calling turd calls me, I'm going to start the heavy breathing treatment and then ask him/her to speak slower and deeper, possibly even ask what they are wearing.

That should **** with their head a little bit
