Once its drilled you should (hopefully) be able to remove the rest of the stud. Then just use a fresh one, if not, you'll have to re tap it. Not too difficult though.

snap on easy out and 1/8 drill bit.

Drill all the way through snapped stud, hammer easy out in. Place turbo in the vice and as you are putting load on the spanner to undo the stud, tap the back of the easy out with a hammer to try and break the torque.

Works every time (the snap-on easy outs in particular are very good from my experience)!

make a mark with a hammer and a peak object on the center

drill for the biggest extractor i can introduce inside

insert the extractor

heat a little bit

and the stud comes, not easily, but surely

Torx bits make good stud extractors in an emergency. Sometimes it's safer to drill out completely and Helicoil back to stock thread size. A broken stud extractor is usually pot hard and a total nightmare to get out.

I had already the case, with a smaller extractor, that the extractor break itself at the same level than the screw itself.

I had to drill the extractor itself .
that was a nightmare as the extractor itself is very hard.

Hey I'm glad you were able to fix that broken stud. How is the rest of the R32 project going along? Joyeux Noel!
