Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it torque that destroys gearboxes, not power?

Given you said you won't be running more torque as 1000 (!!!!) is enough, surely to get higher power you'll be holding less than the torque you've already produced, but higher up the rev range than you do now?

Am getting a bit confused here!

Just to clear up any confusion on our 1300whp ALPHA 12 car that ran the 8.97@169.97 pass we did indeed have the full gear set installed in that car at the time we set that record.

While we have never broken a gear set we also feel upgrading the full gear set is a good insurance policy for any ALPHA 12 GT-R. Of the roughly 15 ALPHA 12 GT-R's we have built here in house all of them got a full upgraded gear set from either Dodson or PPG. The new Albins gear set also looks like a good option for GT-R customers.

Albin,s,Dodson.and PPG, Albins gearkits are wider (1st gear is 40% on OEM)and quieter than there counterparts, this is due to the cut of the gear's
Im sure all other gear kits do the Job intended, just a little noisier lol

A small note on the pics above, if you notice No cir clips on this shaft
Albins have utilised two large threaded retaining nuts to locate gear,s.

Do they cost more like for like than dodson and ppg?
