...and removing the dash, shipping it to UK and back to Austria won't be cheap either ![]() What have you paid for your dash buddy (pm me)??? No idea about the manual winders tho, only know them from Group A car pics... ...would be intersting to see if any private person has done it yet. Perhaps you could ask Al if he has an idea?! Cheers, Leo

Centre Consol fabrication
Just a quick update, seems like ages since I got time to get my sticky mitts on my 32, thought id update the build with a little project ive been doing in the evenings when my GF is doing sport.
She had a sleep over with the hockey girls last night, ![]() ![]() so i took advantage of a night at the workshop and finished off my centre consol fabrication. Some time ago i bought a Ruzic 4x4 controller from Simon, (cheers Si ).As it had had good reviews and Im a tart and the LCD screen matches the one on the stack dash! I like the idea you can switch between two maps at the flick of a switch on the steering wheel too. Also you can download to a data logger throught the COM port which is also quite trick. The trouble is Im a bit worried that I will miss my Skylab TSC, it's sooooooo simple to use and totally transformed the car when i originally fitted it am i just fiddling with somthing that works perfectly just for the sake of it? Well I'll just have to wait and see.So a while back Al found me a new centre consol trim from Yahoo Japan. (cheers Albert )![]() I started by making a carboard template of each of the gauges and positioning them on a larger bit of card, so that I could work out compositionally what looks right, (the artist in me getting carried away there) ![]() ![]() Once I was happy with that i modified the existing alloy mounts that came with the kit so that i could attach it to the back of my bespoke carbon panel. The idea was to Araldite the brackets on so that i didnt have any screws/fixings on the front of the panel. This way I could also remove the gauges at any point if i needed to leaving the bracket in place. I then carefully transfered the template onto the carbon sheet, I wanted to utilize two stack stepper motor gauges in the consol two, probably mount my wideband gauge and an EGT gauge in there. (I find the wideband too distracting in the main binnacle console). I used a fine cutting disc and various dremel type tools to get the recessed shapes as perfect as i could. Fit was pretty dam good. ![]() I then ground down the heads of some M6 bolts drilled holes in the carbon and then Araldited them onto the back of the platic surround, so that the whole carbon panel would be removeable. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Now anyone who knows me knows i do things that only I will ever see, this is one of them, i couldnt resist some nice shiny blue anaodised M6 domed head nuts on the BACK of the panel..... to hold the carbon panel in place securely.![]() ![]() i really do need to get myself a life!!! ![]() So once all fitted up I took it all apart as Im not a fan of shiny carbon so i went over the very shiny surface with some 1200 grit wet and dry, (cheers to the advice of Jaz and Al there). looks so much better and matches the carbon surround on the stack dash better too. The finished article. Oh and cheers to EJ at JDm Autolink for the Nismo fashion lighter Ive wanted one since I was a kid, (maybe a slight exaggeration there! ) But they are soooo nice. (still missing one of the STACK gauges atm).![]() ![]() bob
