Stock Turbos Blown

Sad sad day for me to hear they are gone . She's in the shop now and waiting new parts but I can't decide which way I want to go. Defently want to stick with twins.

So far I have considered these Garrett Twin GT2860RS Dual Ball Bearing Skyline Bolt On Turbos - $1,999.99 because I defently want something that can bolt up to the stock manifold. I would like to get my R32 good for the summer. Any ideas or better turbos out there would be helpful thanks!

Go for -9's (GT-SS), they are in between the -7's (N1) and the -5's (2530)

As you are in Germany you could get them from http://www.turbozentrum.de/ at a good price

Just got my -9's for under Euro 1500.- shipped

If that's for two that's a good price.

Sorry, thought that was obvious

Yes that was for two turbos...

...what would I do with just one

When somebody asks 1500.- for a single turbo of that size, there has to be a HKS badge somewhere on it

Garrett GT2860R - 707160-5

Garrett GT2860R - 707160-7

Garrett GT2859R - 707160-9

I ordered mine 2 weeks before christmas during their christmas sale, hence they were 10% cheaper, but now they're still cheaper then elsewhere (at least what I found until now ).

I'm not smart when it comes to turbos

Was wondering if I do get these they do bolt up to the stock manifold and such right? As far as tuning how does that go about. Not only hard to talk to the germans but an R32 really isn't there thing either

Least none in Bavaria that I know of.

They are a straight swap, yes

But changing turbos is obviously an engine out jobby...

...it's done before with the engine in place, but it's said to be absolutely horrible to do it this way.

I'm pulling my engine to replace them, as I'm also upgrading the oil pump, the sump and the clutch

Where are you located in Bavaria???

I'm from Linz (Austria) which is right next to Bavaria, so perhaps I can help in any way

Cheers,

Leo

Not that far.

Shouldn't be that big of an issue for the turbos. For me it's a matter of getting them and the correct hook up so as I don't have to replace the new ones.

Okay, I always forget how big Bavaria is

You could contact Thomas turbotom on the German Skyline forum, he's from the Regensburg area. Pretty crazy guy, but he really knows his stuff and he has a BNR32

Regarding which turbo to choose, you find lots of discussions on here...

...at first you'll have to think about what power you want and if it should be responsive...

...the GT2860RS turbos (-10's) from your first post, are pretty big and laggy, especially on a 2.6

Really!?! I have yet to find any GTROC Locals. It's hard enough being American in Germany and maintaining a car no ones familiar with. Damn exchange rate hurts to

Yeah, I don't want laggy turbos. I don't need crazy power either, just enough to keep the BMW/Audi knowing whos boss.
