I've been royally shat on for the past 20+yrs.
We need a manufacturing industry not twats pissing about with computer money.
The higher unemployment goes up the less tax the government gets and the more the workers pay in tax to pay for unemployment!
DOH!!!
Sorry but I disagree with your points, but do understand your frustration.

YES bankers get huge bonuses, but it's a drop in the ocean compared to the money they bring into this country every year.

With the cost of living in the UK (small island, too many people) and the relative high level of pay employees require, manufacturing in the UK is dead and will never come back. Not when there are millions of Chinese or Indian people prepared to do the same job making the same products for only 20% of the cost.

The reason the recession happened wasn't because the bankers were greedy (which is what the comics will have you believe) but because the government of the UK and USA didn't regulate the lending effectively enough. Banks were competing heavily on mortgage rates across America and the UK to the point that they took on higher and higher risk customers. The reason they competed was because, well, they wanted to stay in business didn't they? Now because there wasn't anybody big enough to say "No, the line is here XXXX. Don't cross it" things spiralled out of control, people failed on their mortgage payments and the industry started to collapse in America - which had a knock on effect in the UK.

So, I applaud you for working hard and saving up for things, not having any debts etc. I'm the same. However I think people need to be more realistic about the value our banks bring to this country.

So Red Ed Milliband compared the march to three other key movements in history. What a twat! Here is Red Ed with the people he believes he is on a par with.... you spot the odd one out!

I never understood why the labour party choose him. If you listen to him on the radio it's like listening to a 16 yr old trying to chew cotton wool whilst on pot!

Their last leader claimed to have 'saved the world', the one prior to that thought he was actually God, and now this.

The mainstream Labour party didn't - he was too red - the Unions chose him.

Basically his predecessors shat on the whole country and now his job is to criticise anyone who tries to clean it up.

That's because the one before completely buggered it up by invading countries first!

Famous Gordon Brown(stuff) quotes:
  • "No return to boom and bust"
  • "I did maths for a year at university. I don't think I was very good at it. And some people would say it shows."

Jimmy Carter back in the 70's made banks lend to people they really rather wouldn't have.........so blame the governments who wanted people to own their own trailers and made banks lend..........Would have been better off just giving them handouts funded from tax.

Ninja mortgages - No income, no job. The banks knew they wouldn't get their money back, so sold on chunks of loans to other banks - believe AIG would package these up and they ran into trouble too.......

...as I mentioned all funded by Government guaranteed customer deposits.

Hey presto we're all knackered! More knackered than people really understand I think.

It's not the fact that they sold the debt on, it's the fact that they hid the toxic content of the debt. When this was discovered was when the shit hit the fan. Scum like Hedge Fund Managers are the ones that the finger needs pointing at in the first instance as these toxic debt packages were their brainchild. They got the big bonuses.

Let's not forget as well that over here the FSA was created by Labour but they somehow failed to regulate it and this led to even more catastrophy. There are a lot of people that should be held to blame for the state of the economy but they have all shirked their responsibilities.

Cuts are inevitable as is the pain that goes with them. I don't know anyone who's not affected by current financial events. If you borrowed too much you will suffer more. I can't see myself protesting about anything though as I don't really see that complaining about the inevitable serves any purpose.

Stiff upper lip chaps, show some fighting spirit!

There was no such rule here and we still ended up in the same mess. I honestly think the above is just a Republican excuse for something that happened on their watch. There's been a Republican controlled house since and they never overturned it.
