Useing the 350Z for 2 weeks Review

Well I kinda stopped my Skyline for a while since I am doing some work and kindley asked my Brother if I could use his 350Z, fully loaded (Automatic) after 2 weeks of driving it around I would like to say what I think of the new Z from experiance.

Surprisingly the Z is much smaller than the GTR, you can definatly park it in more narrower places which was really good, the rear Brake lights are always an eye turner I honestly like them best. Sitting on Bridstones RE040 Tyres the car could definatly benifit from bigger Rims and lower profile tyres maybe some nice 18's.

First time sat in the car I was amazed at the side windows they are shaped nicley small with nice curves, how are they in driving ? Rear view from the side mirrors are great you can spot cars easily the center mirror is solid and firm,, but looking back from it isnt good I mostly see the Z badge reflection the one from the back.. so parking the car makes it a little more difficult. Where is a Glove box ? I pushed something and got a cup holder.. I never dared to use it thou looked it was good to spill your coke eaily... where is the Ash Tray? I opend what I thought was an ash tray and I found fabric in it ,, I guess its good for change.. the center glove box is made a little too far back for my liking storga space is adquet.. The center square storage looks nice ,, touch the button and it folds up nicley but when it comes to closing is again its very fradgile.. So interior usability is Below Average in my opinion,,, Looks its simple and does the job to an extent.

how is it to drive A lot of torque at ANY speed ,, especially from a stand still,, The cars top Speed is 240km/h I think its a limiter cuz it pulls all the way up to 240 without any problems.. steering feel is much heavier than the skyline which I like ,, the shape of the steering wheel is different at the buttom. However teh short wheel base its VERY bumpey on the stright.

How does it corner ,, TOO much Understeer, I guess it was made that way for saftey let of the throttel and it grips again ,,, the front wnd of the car tends to slide off much sooner than the rear the traction control slip light comes on I do not know how to turn Traction off to comment more about this, I cant find a Traction off button ,, Anyone have ideas ?

The car is quick and nimble changes direction very fast...

Versus other cars ,, well I stayed ahead of a Lexus LS430 V8,, I got smashed by a Porches 4S on the strights but in corners the Porchse driver really sucked I passed him going into a long left corner...

Cars in its class BMW Z3-Z4, Benz SLK, Audi TT, etc
I think the 350Z is a better car for the buck. and its a NISSAN

(ok I want my GTR back now thank you)

VDC off button is on the side where the GTR has the coin holder.

AT sapps a lot of power, and you really need 18" wheels and Brembos to have the whole package. Why did your bro get an auto>

If you guys need to know anything about the Z let me know, I have had the car for almost a year. I must agree on most of your comments as well except for the short wheel base comment. For US standards the Z's wheel base is actually considered pretty long about the same size as the Vette's. This I think helps the stability more. I do agree there is a lot of understeer built into the car which needs to be addressed as well as the traction control being way too touchy.
Overall the car is fun to drive for a NA, but I bet once a turbo kit is made for it, it will be a 100% more fun. Oh ya add some suspenion work as well
