Thanks for your input guys, I did a lot of thinking yesterday and also took a closer look in what's really needed to be done to paint the rest of the engine bay too and I think it's not worth the hassle

Gave the firewall and the other not painted areas a good clean and they are looking a lot more black now than before and as all visible areas are painted in gloss I think I'll leave it as it is and see how it's looking when the engine is back in

Don't know if I'll bite my ass off later but we'll see.

I'll visit my paintshop today and confront them with what happened and see what they are saying, perhaps at least I'll get some money back.

Anyway if I have to remove my engine again some day (playing with the idea of a HKS 2.8 step zero stroker in the future) then I'll paint the complete engine bay either in silver or white...

...black was just the option for now as I didn't fancy painting everything.

Time has come now to get my car finished as it already took me way more time to get where I am now than planed. I'm already starting to run the risk of getting fed up with my car and that's exactley when you start to hurry and errors occur (and I don't want that this is happening)...

...it's time to feel my car again and to get back that big grin on my face when pushing the pedal to the floor

I'd say every car needs it's blemish, else you won't have nothing left to improve next time
