Fitting R33 GTSt front calipers to Series 2 RSFourS

I was hoping that somebody had some experience of fitting R33 GTSt front calipers to a Series 2 RSFourS. Do I need to change much? I think they pretty much bolt straight on but are the brake line connectors the same?

I would really appreciate any advice or hints and tips on this subject.

Cheers

Also, if anyone has any info about the pipes required to fit the rears, that would also be cool.

You'll need some inserts to go into the mounting holes....bolts are different sizes.
Otherwise pretty straight forward.
The lines are slightly different arrangement but I'd definately suggest adding some braided lines.....help a lot!

As you both have the Rs four s I would expect things to bolt on ok - the stock s brakes are different to a seroes 1

even on the series 1 cars any skyline brakes seem to fit (obviously discs have to be the right size for the caliper)

Re caliper bolts - They are a few different sizes bolts and threads Eaiest way is to get the calipers complete with bolts

Ive fitted 33 34 and APs to Stageas . Braided hoses are always a good idea If you are uprating the brakes. Not always needed but a good idea

Thank you Mr P. Are you saying that the bolts on the standard Stagea front calipers are smaller than the mounting bolts holes on the GTSt calipers - so I will need some inserts to make up the difference? That shouldn't be a problem. Where do you recommend to purchase braided lines?

It's always tricky this sort of thing - well the information gathering anyway. I was talking to someone else this morning who said that everything just bolted on. I guess I will know for sure when I come to do it. Mr P - did you perform this conversion yourself recently?

Thank you Brian - I was typing when you posted your information - I will see what's what when I come to do it. The only reason I want to up-rate the brakes is so that I know I have more capability. I drive in a more family style these days and will probably never need better brakes...

im finding that under heavy braking i get a not too heavy but noticable shaking, is this because it has small discs? (compared to the cars size)
and would uprating the discs and pads make a marked difference or a transfer/uprating would be better? as you are discussing?
or just live with it?

forgive me for sounding ignorant but i'm a bit of a novice still.

The shaking you describe sounds like something out of round/warped to me. This is more likely to be warped discs - this can happen with age and is not necessarily indicative of a fault. Replacing/up-rating them would sort this out. Although once upon a time I remember buying some front discs for my GTSt and they were warped to start with - they were a budget disc but I didn't expect them to be warped.

Just out of interest - is it 'disc' or 'disk'?

You're right - a disk or diskette is a magnetic storage medium....

A disc is a disc....

I'm using R33 GTSt pipes to accompany the R33 GTSt rear calipers.

Simpling reallyfold over the heindslab doorstarting.

It's very inconvenient having to use different brake pipes... I may go for braided lines. Can anyone recommend a good place to get some?

Personally, I'd use standard pipes because that have the correct pipe clamps for security, or get nismo pipes because that are perfect.
