OK, pics of rear discs now below, I should have checked these better yesterday as I only glanced at the rear of the remaining pad through the wheel and did not check the front of the pad which I suspect has taper worn to the metal, I will get these out on Monday.

You can clearly see the tramlines / scoring on the NSR disc with the OSR just starting to score.

Doing Oulton on 11th Nov and I am swapping them in tomorrow then bed-them in for this.
I drive like a Jessie on track, so hoping they could last the day. Not entirely sure though, based on 38 minutes of Silverstone!

I did three 6-8-ish laps, 118/9 degs. sessions covering about 55 track miles at Silverstone. Will check the RS29s' wear when I take them off.

Ouch....they look real bad. Glad I only ran them on the road for a bit and 1 VMAX now

Good stopping power as along as application is very limited by the looks of it. And there was me thinking EBC had actually produced quite a good pad. Glad I had already ordered the AP's and XP12's!

So time wise for a full trackday how many sets do you think you would have needed to last a full day Eddie?

LOL! Just make sure you take your RS29s with you for the OP Track Day "just in case" as it would be a shame to ruin your day for the sake of testing the Orange pads.

Well on my BBK Steve it takes more effort/time to change the front pads so I would guesstimate a safe margin of 30 minutes for the Orange Stuff with around 1 hours to swap over so assuming a 7 hour TD I suppose 5 sets of Orange to cover a day!! Not really a goer then IMHO.

Message received and understood.

38 mins down to the backing plates...! Still gobsmacked. Now that a proper mullering!

I suspect mine could last the day...

I`d be very nervous about that looking at your results. 38 minutes is roughly one session. So lets do the maths

Average open pit trackday = 7 hours tracktime including stop for lunch
One session per hour allowing for cool down = 7 sessions
One session = 4 brake pads cooked
7 x 4 = 28 brake pads required to complete the day

£238.80 fronts RRP (7 sets needed = £1671.60 )
£178.80 rears RRP (7 sets needed = £1251.60 )

Grand total = £2923.20

Not including a new set of rotors probably at lunchtime.

Hmmmmmmmmm

Roadwork on these pads seem fine but yet again once exposed to the serious speed that our cars are easily capable of they fall short of the mark. I wonder whether this blend is the final blend or more development will be done on the friction material mixture ???

Surprised they wore down that quick.
I think the key issue here is 38 minutes in one go.
I suspect if you had done that in two sessions they would be fine.

I also did a tank full at Silverstone but in 3 sessions over 2 hours and was really gunning it to keep up with Krumm. I think my maximum time on track was about 25 minutes.

My cheapo Cosworth Road pads are still in very good shape despite quite a bit of smoking. These pads have also seen the ring and a few others. They stink and smoke after 2 laps but as long as you stop they seem to be OK.

Nah... only got 1 set, plus me blues.

Reckon Eddie is right: Pack the the Pagids!

...the MLR chaps relink us here on pg. 11 post #151 onwards; then I saw your post #163.

When I'm quoted as saying "My Pagids just refuse to wear out... still got about 5mm pad depth all round." that was from a quick glance.

When I checked the front Pagids with the digi-calipers before Silverstone they were 8.05mm not 5mm!

Keeping a running log here: My Pagid Rs29 pad wear

Point taken Paul, but I have never had a pad fail so poorly before and that included OEM. These pads are touted as "Race Only", my Pagids take that use all the time and keep coming back for more and still last 3 track days at least with this type of usage.

2 sessions does not interest me in the slightest, I like to be on track and for me that means 1 tank of fuel at a time, of course with us only having 2 x 1 hour sessions at Silverstone that means I would only get 2 sessions (2 tanks of fuel) in a day and the fact that they failed 2/3 of the way through the first session meant I did not get another run in my car that car ... apart from a rather noisy one on the way home!!
