Finance & Residual Advice

Hi all. Just registered and looking for a bit of advice. I've spent half the morning looking round the site and learnt lots of new stuff.

Just going through a divorce so I've decided to swap a wife for a GT-R (seems like a good swap to me).

I've been out of the country for a bit so I'm just looking for a bit of advice as to what to expect on financing the deal.

I'm looking at spending £35,000-£37,000 on a 09 model and I reckon with my crappy little runabout thrown in as part exchange I should be able to put down around £7000 as a deposit. I was looking for a 3 or 4 year finance deal with a balloon on the end .

Questions are what kind of percentage should I realistically be looking at as to the cars value in 3 or 4 years? 50% for a 3 year deal 40% for a 4 year deal?

Also are there any preferred / agreeable finance companies specialising in GTR's? I've come across Oracle, who seem to specialise in high end cars but are there any more to consider contacting.

I've seen a couple of cars of interest but I don't want to do anything until I get the finance sorted.

All replies appreciated and thanks in advance.

My residual was around 40% on a four year deal.

Speak to Jamie Garside at performance car finance. He's a good guy and (for me anyway) was a fair bit cheaper than Oracle were.

His no is 07780 602895

Not sure you are going to find too many UK 09 cars at 35 to 37k - I think you will need to add about £2k to get a good choice.

There's a handful kicking around on Auto Trader around that price point and i'm in no particular rush.

It's like anything once i have an idea of the finance costs and rates i may be able to stretch to a bit more for the right vehicle.

You could try Clydesdale Asset Finance - I have been with them on and off for many years and find their rates and flexibility very good. Let us know how you get on.

Would have to agree with sumo69. Your not gonna find an 09 model for that kind of money. The minimum your looking at is circa 38k with sensible miles. That White one that's on there for 36k has been up for sale for a long time now. Long before I bought my one which was a couple of months back at least. That started at 40k and has been reduced again and again. Not knocking the car just if a car hasn't been sold within that time and has been reduced that much then you should start asking questions.

All the ones ive seen for 35-37k have been 07/08 imports.
